    In an ideal world you want confident ferrets , the nose tapping will make them hand shy , hands need to be something they dont fear , due to the job you expect from them What food are you feeding ?

    To be honest the handling of a ferret be it a pet or a working animal is the same , so is the diet & everything else, if the young males hogging food simply put more in than they can possibly eat that way you know if theres any food left the following morning there all getting enough the nose tapping makes the biting worse , handle after there all full of meat & couldnt care less as there so stuffed

    I wont sleep tonight because i want to be out as soon as its light to experiment tomorrow Get up and out there before it's light so you can catch the sunrise! Thats what i am hoping to do , i got one in the spring but it will be nice to get one this late in the year & they have forcast a good weekend here as well so hopefully i can take a good few pic in different places over the next 2 days

    I love it going to spend the evening reading the books that came with it now rather than in a months time when i am whinging nothings working properly

    Is that supposed to be the IS??,or do you mean the L?.If it's just the ordinary f/4L at that price I'd start shopping somewhere else because at that price it's a friggin rip-off! I have a Jessops converter which works perfectly and the AF is spot on,not everyone is made of money like you Darsey! :stinker: due to the 30% increase in may on all canon and nikon gear thats what the price is on them but you can get the sigma one for cheaper and kay your kit lens will come in handy for stuff like when your walking the dogs and stuff like that imo you will always need atleast 2 lenses

    kay dont listen to these amatures. try out the canon 70/300mm is .. you wont be dissapointed.. top lens for price.. Thank you Byron , so what i want to know now is what is the standard one that comes with the camera going to be good for , or is it just worth me having the 70 200 one & the body ?

    I have read some reviews on the 70 200 lense & i think its going to be what i need for a start i can do macro stuff using it apparently

    So a 70 200 lens will let me see how far away roughly ? I cannot answer. Try not to think of it in terms of how far you can see. All the lens does is bring the subject closer. In all photography with wildlife it really helps if you are as close as possible.But a 70-200 is a very good lens IMO. You can also get a 1.4 converter to fit it and that will nearly take you up to 300 on the top side. That said, you will loose a little light. IMH i would only ever buy canon converters, i have tried sigma and they are not as good and, i think, a waste of cash....good luck.. Thanks its begin

    I carry a small knife with me not that i would know how to use it if i had to like, but its come in usefull a few times for other things while out walking

    So what would be the next range up , as i want something that will zoom out a bit to take pictures a distence away ? or will that one do it

    I am getting this camera on Friday but it comes with a 18-55mm DC (Non-IS) lens i dont understand what the lense does what is the 18 55 ?
