  1. Keep it locked up, you havnt got a clue mate i made sure i spent an hour at least a day with that pup. His recall was spot on, jumping, going to where i point the lot. I spent a lot of time walking him yhrough sheep and was sure he was broke, i didnt come to this decision lightly you know he was my pride and joy.
  2. No i got rid of it because it has killed two sheep when its spent its whole life with them. I had pictures of him licking one of my sheeps face. What the f**k would you do like, keep him on his lead his whole life. People said get rid of him after the first time but i thought it was just a one off, you could see that he would do it no matter what the second time there was no getting it our of him
  3. Yer i know its a shame and i dont think i know better but when the neighbours are stood watching what can i do. I do just as much stock bteaking as. Any one else and my other dogs wer fine. I had every intention of giving it my best shot but like ah say i didnt know sheep had been put into the field behind my house and the neighbours stood and watched him rag it to bits.
  4. At the end of the day i spent. more time stock breaking that dog with him been saluki grey than my other dogs and they are fine. Evert wer i go there is sheep and how could u possibly trust him. And yes i no i let him off before that what i said in my post, but after reading comments i stopped.
  5. I showed him the sheep smacked him and told him off. He new fine well he shudnt be doin it as he would avoid me after , he wud just do it any way.
  6. Hows that like, fair enuf it might of be3n stupid to let him off before but he didnt do nowt, then i read the comments and always kept him on his lead. Ive walked him through sheep regular since he was fifteen weeks constantly telling him when he paid them any attention. He has been spot on until recently. He was totaly unpredictable, he new he shouldnt go for the sheep but still did, once i pulled him off he was dodgin% me to get back at it. I adored that dog and it was the last thing i wanted to do, at least i didnt sell him on to get money back, and he was far to game to be in a pet home. A
  7. I never realised the sheep were in the field, i opend back door and he ran and jumped straight over. The neighbours were watching i had no choice he had to go. I never let him off any more after reading your comments. I wont be getting another was the hardest thing av done in me life.
  8. It was obviously was spooked by the fight dik
  9. Well let the pup out in garden today and the farmer had put sheep and lambs in back field. He jumped the fence and grabbed a lamb so hes now gone. Cheers for advice any way.
  10. MY MATES LOST HIS BLACK 3/4 GREY 1/4 BULL IN BISHOP AREA LAST NIGHT. A BIT O A SCRAPKICKED O IN BACK OF VAN AND WHEN HE OPENED THE DOOR THE BTCH TOOK OF AND NEVER CAME BACK. SHE IS FIVE YRS OLD AND BEEN HIS BEST DOG. ANY INO APRECIATED.
  11. well he was always loose before this day and never done any thing, and never did anything here.
  12. I know yous wont believe me but he is jus not. intetested he wasnt before at all and isnt now. Am still gona constantly bray it into him but im happy with him.
  13. Yeah i know am not gonna do it any more gona keep up with training and avoid sheep as much as possible when off the lead any way to reduce the risk of it happening again.
  14. Jus been out tonight again walking him through lambs. Never hsmardly looked at them. So rightly or wrongly i thought f**k it, let him off the lead right in the middle of field, bad idea he killed another two lambs.......joke.....walked back and fortg through the field and never paid them any attention. I dont know if it was the influence of terrier, jus watchin dogs chase deer or what but he never did it before and he not. Doing it now. Still keeping close eye though think i always will. Lesson learned
  15. At the end of the day the pup is coming on mint in every aspect so im not gonna get rid becsuse of one over excited mistake. Like i say i walked him through loads of lambs last night and he never batterd an eye lid. Plus i have my own sheep to that stupid reply about farmer not wanting me in his field.
  16. see how come some one can come on and give an answer like that and others are like the lads a fukin idiot..shoot the dog...always gonna kill em now...diks.
  17. cheers for the advice mate
  18. just walked the pup through 3 fields of sheep and lambs, never batterd an eye lid, then let him off in a field next to sheep and he just walked up the fence line sniffing the grass ????????? i dont know.
  19. The pup was steady as any thing its been with my sheep all the time since young ive got pictures of it licking lambs noses u fukin pricks. He had jus been watching other dogs chase deer and the influence of other dog what caused it. I know i can turn this dog from this is was an over excited mistake, ive spenr every day with. Him since fifteen weeks i know my dog. He is a very vert game dog with lots of drive, i will channel this drive onto game and make sure i break him to stock, if i fail i will do the right thing.
  20. Oh right, i never realised that playing with them was the build up to this i thought that would be al he would do. Ok back to basics and il make sure he gets the idea this time.
  21. The dog has been walked through sheep and lambs since fifteen weeks i have my own, he has never shown signs of it before i think it was because the terrier was there and jealousy got him carried away. Il go back to basics and give him one more chance. There are some bell ends on here
