How hard is it to understand. Ive been stock breaking him since young. He walked through sheep everyday, he watched dogs chase deer, then ran and played with sheep. I got him back, put him on lead for five mins and told him off. I let him back off he went and nailed a sheep. I walked him through fields on lead and was showing no interest. U let him off in the sheep, which after reading your comments realised was stupid so got lunge lead off my mams friend. Open the door one morning to let him out for. a piss and he darts to top of garden, over fence and nails another in front of neighnours. Ca

Listen adam with dogs s**t always going to happen....and it 99%down to handler...as much as we would like to blame it on the dog or other parties.....but ignore all the negativity posted, try to take the positive from this, this is why you obviously posted, you want viewpoints, not slating!!!!! The dog wasn't properly broke, my method....."dog used to walking on lead, when he/she hears the click of the fastener they know they off the lead, this is the learning zone! Fasten 10ft of cord around collar and then around your hand, unclip lead from collar,the dogs furthest limit is now only 10 ft

was talking to the old lady next door tonight about why i put my pup down. she then informed me that when i was at work the farmer was letting sheep into field and then taking them back out before i got home. the pup was watcching through pattio door and barking and going crazey at them. obviously with no one there to stop him or tell him other wise. this had been going on for a few days so when ive went in on sunday about ten and opened the back door he had ran and jumped over the fene and hit one straight away. if only i had knew what had been going on.

Yeah but after that i realised and ive been keeping him on lead. Ive already said that was stupid. That dog was totally unpredictable he could never b trusted and sheep every where i go

Yeah he never botherd sheep. But he had never botherd lambs before either. Both lambs were exactly the same size too nearly grown.

Yeah i have admitted that was stupid but he didnt even look at them. When u wrote that on here and read your replys i realised and never let him off again, got lunge lead etc and never let him off. He paid no attention to them on that. Then this happened i had no choice.

What cant you understand about the fact that i opened the back door and he ran and jumped straight over the back fence thirty metres away which happened to have sheep in the field where there hadnt been in the whole. Two years i have lived here. I did not let him run loose with them on purpose ffs i had every intention of doing it properly, i even got lunge line off my mams friend.

Well thats where i have made my mistake and i take responsibility for that. I didnt realise that was the build up to it i thought it was a sign of having no aggression towards them. Im used ti collie crosses which are easy to stock break. Thats where i have let the poor lad down then.

Thats what i believe my pup would have been like. When im stood in front of a sheep and hes pacing up and trying to get passed me what choice did i have, from a dog that has spent that much time with sheep for so long and been ok

Sorry u #idnt realise that. I was going to follow your advise but when he got hold of one the second time he just would not listen and was doing any thing he could do get back at it. Surely thers no going back from that.
