  6. no this is cumnbria-not far from ennerdale, well less than 2 mile from. ime not in perthshire any more as much as its a shame
  7. whilst ime picking brains, have you or TC had much use out off nylon nets about 4z as my last salmon drift net is ready to go only its nylon of do you recon it would be worth changeing it to mono?
  8. wont the end of the net drift before the rest in in the water (the tail end swinging round?) what leadline you use number 2? float every 3-4ft? No 2 lead and corks every 4 ft.. We tie a house brick at the end, oh a stone off the beach, it work well if you have a good beach to drift on not have to jump over rocks and stone beaches, and have a good place to haule you net. [bANNED TEXT] we set nets on boat we only set on last 2 hours of the tide all fish are still alive, and live going in the box on ice. cheers ive gota try it,8ft deep? how close do you have them hitting the net? i have fish
  9. yeh ive seen some nice show stuff but not being much into the dog world i dont have the contacts that "every one" on hear has to find what i want. feel free to pm, save feeding the trolls

  11. cheers grant_c wouldent be grant curley would it? i want a wire haired (not rough coat),well marked, not snipe jawed a nice boxy muzzle, to make around 14 inch but narrowish chest and a bit of leg.this is the "stamp" of dog i want,
  12. since ive come back home. ive been looking for b and t pups. my old patt is past it my hounds are gone of dead my lurchers are very ill with cancer and the only dog i have of any use now is the springer! ive got spanking new kennels but cant find what i want to put in em. ive got a very clear idear of what i want, so questions is folks do you know of any good breeders of black and tans? pics would help p.s the only one ive seen and realy wanted was on hear and sold before i got a chance
  13. granddad use to use them down in the bay but i never have to be honest i have kinda forgot about them! i suppose the bag in the net would be mustard for turbot too...........its all about the turbot lol
  14. i have sole nets rigged danish its good but i dont like it for trammels it saves rigging time thou. yeh the nets only fish properly at slack water and most of our fish are in the top 10 mmeshes. we fish the trammels and turbot nets parallel with the waves they always catch flatfish and skate better..well we fish nets in a L shape with a 100m gillnet running down to the low water the on the right hand side at the bottom we have a 100m trammel, the idear is that ( and it kinda works) the bigger turbot hit the gill net with the ebbing tide and follow it down into the trammel the plan must work be
  15. i got given 500m of old salmon drift net so ive been useing them floats for years
  16. my old girl dose it now and them she is a patt aswell but she is 10. it started about 2 year back and happens about every 7-10 month. vets said nowt hey could do
  17. this is that mackerel net i was asking about TC its looking good! just got it done in the rain! first stretch out the head line with floats roughly in the right place then the net to follow i always bag the bit of net ive done and just keep pulling and hanging as i go head line and lead line at the same time wheni join in a new needle i always tie it on about a inch behind the last one ive finished dont be tempted to tie it in as you would a rabbit net mono looks for a reason to tangle........dont give it one! 8 mesh into 9 inch hanging as per TCs sugestions
  18. hi steve its both free advertising too, i once caught over 300 moles for two neighboring farmers both brothers.and neither could believe they has such numbers on each farm and as at the time i was not hanging them on fences they both got in their heads that i was taking both sets of moles to both farms and getting paid twice.....robbing them in short.. so refused to pay me. now i ether hand them on the fences ( if people get upset tough!) of leave each and every days with the farmer in person to dispose of himself, needless to say most like them hanging on a fence( roadside preferd)
  19. whilst ime doing it dose any one want to see a mackerel net in the makeing?
  20. well soo soo no pics sorry ive only just got a camra lol
  21. yeah it looks that way looking back I pulled 4 rabbits from 11 snares none knocked, there were hares using these runs too and I wanted some for the pot and the farmer wanted then off the drillings.
