  2. the mk3m collar turns off by a magnet or by touching the locater to the collar and im not sure the mk3 does
  3. me to , if the jill is outside and has the kits you have potentially got a problem because it will be freezing and theres a chance they could die, they are born without fur and will be frozed, but if you put plenty of bedding in there may be a chance but the best bet in the winter is to put them indoors like a shed or house.
  4. i have the mk3m and i think its excellent , tells you exactly how far and i think it is really easy to use , and if you get the hi viz one its brilliant in the field because its very easily spotted and will not get lost .
  5. i have one of those testers and did not think you could test the collar batteries, good thinking mate cheers
  6. My link try this link but not sure how good they are, the ones i have in mine are the standard ones which come when new ( they are called rayovac quartz 394 & 9v rayovac pp3 as for changing batteries you dont need to every time i take my batteries out of the collars ( i clean mine after each outing ) & then just put them in when im going out, obviously make sure the collar is turned on before you put it on the ferrets neck & turn it off when the collar has been taken off the ferret , if you need to turn the collar on with the box/arrow/magnet it sound like you got mk3m c
  7. i am positive mine is mk3m because i have to turn it on by putting the locater to it is that right , and why is it neccesary to change batteries every outing when deben says the collar lasts upto 100 hrs and i turn the collor off after every trip , well i think thats what the magnet does turns the collar off, cheers for advice thore much appreciated.

  13. this is what a trap looks like http://www.trapman.co.uk/af160large-smallfile.jpg i think the mink goes in or other small animals and the food is at the back and they stand on the trigger plate and the door that is on the roof of the trap closes and the mink or animal is stuck , i think my mate told me the way to kill is put the mink in a sack or something put our foot on the mink and with a plank of wood wack it on the head and thats mento be the humane way but i wouldnt know how to get the mink into the sack , i think it is legal aswell to trap them aslong as you have permission.
  14. i think my hob and jill went out for the first time when they were about 5-6 months old i would say thats probably the best time to take them because it gives them a chance to grow a bit and also they are more able to take a kick off a rabbit at an older age, some people have theres out earlier but i have mine bout 6 month, also you will probably need 20 or more nets to go out with , nice warm box for the ferrets and warm clothing for you cos its freezin now, also you dont have to but it is good to purchase a deben ferret finder because sometimes ferrets love to keep the rabbits down and it sp
