  1. how do you pay for the poly it doesn;t say.do they accept paypal. He accepts Pay Pal... I've just ordered some, and not a bad price , so thanks again NRigger! Buggsbunny . Think about it .A rabbit emerging from a burrow is probably only going to see a net of any colour as a silouhette against the light. Then there is the fact that rabbits are probably colour-blind or certainly don't see colour as we do and are defintly are more attuned to detect movement than colour. The number of times that rabbits back-net into nets of all colours is the real indicater that the rabbit
  2. i'm sure you will find plenty on the pinned board when the time comes mate, i personally need to let my young stock prove themselves before i consider breeding
  3. The pup's 5mnths now. He pees like mad when he sees me, when i stoke him, when he wants me to stroke him and if he anticipates me stroking him It is always excited peeing, never scared, and i even ignore him when he's first near me, but the anticipation comes into play  I've experienced this with a terrier bitch pup in the past but it wore off within a couple of weeks Anyone else experienced this and how long did it go on for? ATB LD13
  4. Personally i do not think the colour would make too much difference, im not talking from experience as ive only just started ferreting but this is my view. Rabbits would not be expecting a net to be covering the hole in the first place so would not be looking for one, and with a ferret behind them they would only want to do one thing and that is get out the burrow and fast. Also they would be emerging from a very dark burrow and the opening of the hole im sure would just look like a bright light, i think by the time their eyes had adjusted to the difference in brightness they would be pursed
  5. Here's the pink stuff http://www.screwfix.com/prods/10856/Hand-Tools/Builders-Tools/Builders-Line/Plumb-Line
  6. Found this polymer plumb line, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/250FT-BUILDERS-BRICK-LAYING-STRING-PLUMB-LINE-MEASURE_W0QQitemZ130325594952QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Hand_Tools_Equipment?hash=item1e5802c348#ht_2054wt_1165 How many descent sized nets could you make realistically?
  7. Let us know how you get on with the Arthur Carter smoker mate, Heard mixed reviews
  8. I wouldnt laugh as i know how frustrating it is, especially if you lose two from under your nose Yeah sounds good mate, i'll be around. LOL, Luckiest rabbits ever i think, two slipping the one purse net then hitting the stop net so hard it fell over :icon_redface: we live and learn eh mate good job the pup followed one to the hole for collection after I'm sure it'll not happen again
  9. I can teach you to make nets if you wanted to learn? Its pretty easy really and doesnt take long for them to start looking good. Plus once you know how you can make them any colour, shape or length you like and out of what twine you like, they work out a lot cheaper. ATB Paul. That'd be good of you paul no laughing if i lose a rabbit or two with my attempts though I'll give you a bell for a meet soon mate, maybe an hour or two out on Sunday?
  10. 1stly it'll need to fit down a rat hole, make sure there is no possibility of the tunnels intersecting drainage pipes, lost ferret, also always use a locator, micro or Mk3 would be best due to the confined spaces And use an older ferret, take a first aid kit for your ferrets with you Thats covered it i think
  11. thats a pretty good price overall I've been looking around for brightly coloured nets but could only find these, I use green and red nets, also hemp and find that that all look pretty dark and earthy after a wet day out and can easily be overlooked at the end of the day, resulting in much eye strain Also, i have no net making abilities either
  12. I was scanning through flea bay and found these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10x-new-high-vis-yellow-purse-nets_W0QQitemZ320476009075QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET?hash=item4a9ddbd273#ht_500wt_1182 . I'm thinking good idea, it's non reflective so i should think the hi vi wouldn't make a difference Still, i think ideal for those times when you're out at dusk after a hard dig? Does anyone use these? Regards LD13
  13. Cheers mate, That'll be grand, i use Hazel pegs, is it doable with them?
  14. Yes mate, pop him to the vets for a once over, it's easily cleared, at that stage expect more hair loss during treatment but it'll soon come good
  15. Or delete them and do a before and after pic perhaps Hope it comes good
  16. it's a game looking animal, just needs skin issue sorted out, i hope the chap didn't get ripped off on the price, if any
  17. lovely sturdy looking little thing mate. good luck with it
  18. If you'd sell just the collar pm me with a price mate, i'm not sure the box is easily repaired? ATB LD13
  19. Does it squeel when at about the 10ft mark?
  20. You should be fine with the ones on the hill, you mght have flooding on the lower tunnels but you should be fine with it mate, and the ferrets won't generally drown themselves
  21. Some impressive moist hole shots there Maggie .............................
