  1. Hi everyone I have permission to shoot on a small chicken farm near Honiton Devon, but it is a little too far for me to travel. so if there is anyone out there close enough to take it on and are responsible. get back to me and I can sort the details out for you. the place is crawling it's a great little place and real fun.
  2. Bloody hell don't start knocking the S410 I have just bought one today!! :D AND I LOVE IT........
  3. Well to put this to bed once and for all.... I have been and bought a brand new Air Arms S410 carbine in the...... "drum roll" .177 style, I will pick it up on Monday afternoon. cant wait to see how she performs.
  4. Thank you Cottswood, you hit the nail on the head there. There does seem to be a little "click" or club that you only seem to be in if you live on the forum. I tried to apologize and clarify the question, I thought there may be some people that have had the privilege to own a gun in both calibers and if they had a preference to one and why. I don't have ton's of money and want to get the right gun for me hopefully second time. I shoot really well with my Logun Axsor but it doesn't seem to be quite right, I can't seem to settle with it. I am lucky enough to have lots of permissions in Cor
  5. I don't want patronizing!! ie, Well the difference between a AA410 in .177 and one in .22 is that one of them is in .177 What was required is has anyone got experience with a model of gun in both calibers, not just reading the spec sheet and quoting it to me, actual shooting of both guns. in all fairness, I presumed after my apology and re editing of the question common sense would prevail. by not needing technical, I mean not quoting the manufacturers sales spiel, and simple well patronizing. But lets forget it, I will just find out by other means before this gets into one of them threads
  6. Well the difference between a AA410 in .177 and one in .22 is that one of them is in .177 and has a few less shots per charge and the other is a .22 and has a few more then a .177. As from the built of the gun, they are identical but one is in .177 and the other is in.22 Hope that sorts it out ATB Michael There is a fine line between wise and patronizing! I think I will stick to just reading stuff on the forum as a general read about the sport. As I could have got the majority of these answers from the local primary school. maybe wise folk should look up the word constructive..
  7. Guessing this is as bad as asking which is best .177 or .22
  8. As I said I didn't want the technical bollox about the two calibers, it was intended as a rough idea of the opinions of others. I am clever enough to work out the science of it thanks. and that is what the other threads on the subject seem to harp on about. so I'm not going to get patronizing reply's I will be the better person and apologize for putting a misleading title, and I should have put" has anyone got any constructive comments on the difference of an AA s410 in each of the calibers?" or any other model of gun. as in the model specific differences in each caliber, not caliber of pell
  9. I understand the debate of .177 or .22 will be one that goes on for ever, I just wondered what the general thought was without all the technical ins and outs of the subject. I am trying a few guns out of both caliber, I have been offered a .22 BSA Superten MK3 standard length, and it seems a great gun not got chance to shoot with it though, so it would be a buy with only having a feel of it. So any constructive advice comments would be great. although the AA S410 I think will take some beating.
  10. Hi folks, I am thinking of getting a new rifle, I have a Logun Axsor and I have found the stock to be a little short for me, and it is a long rifle for for carrying around the woods. Don't get me wrong its a fantastic rifle. but I fancy an AA s410 after having a chance to shoot one it just seems to fit me better. but I am undecided to either go for a .177 or a .22 I shoot mainly rabbit but have lots of shooting to do for feathered type creatures. I have £400 plus my Logun to chop in against a new rifle. what would be the best caliber to go for? or or suggestions on a make / model of gun, gues
  11. Hi folks, could anyone tell me the difference between the MK1 and MK2 BSA Superten? and what is the best/ easyest way to tell one from the other. and if poss a rough guide as to the value of each model. I am going to look at one on Wednesday, and want an idea of what to look for. Could anyone put up a picture of both models please. Google images is no good as its not clear what model is in the pictures. any info would be great.
  12. I have started to use a bi pod and it's the best thing I have ever done... I have always used a tall set that I made and they are good. But I am now using a short set and laying down, my kill count has doubled getting about 10-15 bunnies each visit now with clean kills, and better confidence. plus I am only into my 5 month of shooting, so still learning a lot, also I have changed to, Webley accupells from AA diabolo Field, and they seem to spread on impact better thus cleaner kill. I have my zoom set at 4 on my scope and set at 30 yards at the front, I never touch them... it is zeroed in at
  13. If anything the shop owner should be informed of your concern of the accuracy of the test, and his way of dealing with the situation. And base YOUR opinion on the advise from here. If he is a sound chap he should at least for what it takes do the test again with pellets from a sealed tin, with you there. And explain how he works out his maths, and why the details are wrong. After all if you had a parking ticket with the wrong reg number on it would you pay the fine??? He is running a shop and preaching the law! so really the print out is a legal document and should be accurate in every way,
  14. 30 yards Logun Axsor 8 shot standard length .22 sub 12ft lbs Ritchter Optik 3x9x50 AOE scope AA Diabolo field pellets keeping topped up to 150-160 bar not the full 200bar, as this gives me 11.4 ft lb. it drops to 9.2 if I fill it right up.
  15. I am wrong in believing you can retrieve your kill.... You can only get it if you have permission to do so from the owner of the land on which your quarry has landed in!!
  16. The law in this country I am led to believe, says you can only be prosecuted for trespass if you are "causing damage or you are carrying a firearm", so I believe if you leave your gun in the house then pop over the fence making sure you don't damage the fence if it is hers! and retrieve your kill there is nothing really she can do. saying that your air rifle isn't classed as a firearm so you may be able to do a Johnny Rambo and take your gun over the fence with you! Just for effect. . I have a friend who is a Police officer so I will ask him to clarify it for me. But I asked him about this a
  17. Re zero your scope mate, you may have knocked it unknowingly. I have had a right time lately with regards to accuracy, turned out it's me that is the fault, the way I am holding the gun and my position. also my scope was way out when the night before I was shooting really well. so I must have knocked it at some point. I struggle as I had both my legs crushed 2 years ago still recovering, so getting comfy is really hard as I cant kneel down or squat, so I have to sit or lay down. I have had to not go for so many shots just because I cant get a good stance. The best bit of kit I have is a
  18. Christ Thorne thats where I am from.. in Plymouth now, Try Euroguns of Doncaster, they are at finningley not too far away, and they have everything there. www.euroguns.co.uk check out their website. hope this helps mate. Let me know what they are like if you go, I may pop in next time I go up to see Family, my brother lives in Goole.
  19. Beats me why people ask these crazy prices!! If you really care for the dog and it requires a new home give it away to a good home!! or ask a price that will ensure a sale and do your homework on the new owner. the wellbeing of the dog is paramount. They should stop just anyone breding dogs and advertising them in the local rag for a quick fist full of cash. I'm not saying this is what you are doing but the dogs homes are overflowing with dogs that are bred for a quick load of cash. Mostly bull breeds for the chavs!! If anyone is looking for a lurcher try Lurcherlink loads on there needi
  20. Hi mate, I also have a Logun Axsor I have been having a few issues with it regards accuracy at 35 yards +. I wouldn't say you have a bent barrel as it is fixed at the muzzle end and to be that bad I think you would see the bend, try putting a steel rule along the edge if the barrel, a 30cm one as this will show up any bend instantly!! I have sent a few cleaning pellets through mine and it has improved it a lot. Also check that it is sat in the stock well and that the recess that the action sits in is straight and not stressing the air chamber (warped stock) as the barrel is fixed to it. I am
  21. Cheers I will try that, thank you. I know these are supposed to be a really accurate gun. and I love it fits me really well.
  22. Hi folks, I am having some trouble trying to find a pellet that my Logun Axsor woks well with. I have tried RWS superfield/superdomes,superhollowpoint,(for rats) Logun Penetrator, and Bisley Magnum. Superfield sounded a bit twangy. But I can't seem to get any concistency with the shots they are allover the place! Is there anyone on here with a Logun Axsor that have found a pellet that works well, I know that every gun is different but it may be a start for me. it's .22 Any advice or suggestions would be great.
  23. Fantastic looks like a beautiful place you are shooting at, well done. I am not quite that productive yet but getting there.
  24. Good clean shots!! Aided by my trusty home made bi-pod you can see in the picture, two hiking sticks and a bit of fettling! I have had many more successful trips since this picture, I am finally getting the field-craft skills sorted. I now have a Clulite SL2 lamping kit and I have had some real good nights out with it, if anyone wants to buy one of these kits. Mole Valley Farmers sell them for £86. BARGAIN!!! ;) And they are around £125 everywhere else. they do online sales too!! http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/pl2_SHOOT-EQ_LAMPS.htm happy hunting guys!!
