  1. Thanks for all your help lads. I think I'm going to get a yellow norwich. I'd rather spend a bit on a decent bird and give myself the best possible start. What's the going rate for a decent hen? Thanks
  2. Cheers Albert. So you recon I should get a Norwich cock and breed him with a Yorkshire hen then cross a hen from these 2 with a goldie? Thanks
  3. Cheers all. What's the best out of the 3 for showing? Cheers
  4. Cheers bunnys. Is it best to pick one up at the local shows? What sort of price should I expect to pay? Cheers
  5. I'm after a yellow norwich canary hen for mulling. Firstly what is the best colour for mulling with a goldfinch? Secondly where is the best place to pick one up in a few months after the breeding season? Thanks
  6. I wasn't slagging her off because I came 3rd at all. I was only stating what and AND a few others said. I don't care how long she has had terriers for. And don't go giving it all the big un calling me a little boy!
  7. No prob lol. I didn't see as much of the pitchers as I would of liked to so I can't comment on the judging. Well done on your 2nd and 3rd though
  8. I got a 3rd too but from what I and a few others saw she did judge how I said. What class was you in?
  9. I was there and all I can say is that the terrier judge was shit! She gave 1st, 2nd and 3rd to the 3 closest dogs to her in the final line up each time.

  12. They may well be next seasons stu but at least they can graze a bit of the grass beforehand. Your more then welcome to pop round for a curry
  13. I lost one last week but the remaining four are doing really well
  14. To be honest I don't really care if its illegal, the way I see it is there's 5 rabbits there and I would never kill a rabbit a leave it so I'm not going to leave these, I'd rather raise them and let them have a chance to breed up stock for next seasons ferreting.
  15. Yes I have been, it stimulates them like the mother would do with her tongue.
  16. Exactly tiercel it's just your opinion and that will be the nearest they come to getting knocked on the head! I'm giving them as little human contact as possible and the field they came from has very little form of predators so fingers crossed.
  17. Once reared ill be releasing them back into the field they can from
  18. It's very expensive and over commercialised over the past few years. I've been going since a toddler but don't think I'll bother this year.
  19. I decided to have one last quick outing yesterday to a local bit of land. I returned to a warren I had done a couple of months ago knowing there was a couple at home. Nets down hob in. First rabbits slipped the nets but I saw where it went so I thought I'll get that in a bit. 2 further rabbits in the nets and into the small fence line the escapee went. Nets down ferrets in and out she came. As I was picking the nets up my other half told me that she saw the rabbits stomach moving. I checked and the rabbit was definitely dead but the stomach was moving. I quickly gutted her
  20. So what is your next course of action in your quest to become self sufficient if you don't mind me asking?
  21. Hi All, I am sick of paying stupid amounts for razor blades so I am thinking about getting a cut throat. Does anyone know how hard these are to use? Also which maker would you recommend? Thanks
  22. So much for being self sufficient, claiming a council flat contradicts your past posts a lot doesn't it?
