  2. well lads tried the chinning method today and it works a treat. the rabbit had just bolted in to the net as i picked it up it started to scream just as some dog walkers were walking down the trail that goes through one of the fields, i thought please bloody work!(thank god i was not about to do the karate chop!!!!!!!!!) and it did first time i laid it on the floor and then the walkers decided to try to give me a lecture about animal cruelty etc etc so i explained to them politely that its not cruel etc then another rabbit bolted so said my goodbye's(yeah right) and proceeded to chin another

  4. afternoon guys just got in from a trip out with the ferts(chaz and dave), we had 11 rabbits so not a bad result. when i was necking the rabbits thought it would be a lot easier to chin them(stop ripping my nets!) so could any one please tell me in detail how to do it please. done a search but not quite got the right answer. i have seen it done on some clips and it looks very quick to do. cheers all tony
  5. nice one guys, thankyou for all the replys, much appreciated tony
  6. i pull the net tight using both rings, fold in half, half again fold the line up against the side of the net then use an elastic band. when setting the net i always put the elastic band around my wrist then when it comes to "nets up" when all the elastic bands have gone of my wrist i know that i have all the nets up. cheers tony

  8. morning guys just recieved my new box from the ferret box company, very well made, they come un-treated so just want to give it a bit of weather proofing. what should i use as i dont want to use anything that is toxic to the boys. cheers tony
  9. i got my mk3 finder last week and after posting on here and asking questions and having a good play around with it i have finally mastered it, i think! i found out if the batteries are not in the right way and fully in you do get odd readings, so make sure its fully working before you put one of the team down. sounds sad but i put the collar in the other room, close my eyes and use the finder to locate it, using the sound of the bleeps and using the pin point switch. i can now find it quiet easily. all the best tony

  22. are you doing it the same way as in the tutorial on here mare? if so i found my first couple of nets had a "slack ring" but then i found when i was doing the ring just make sure that i was pulling every knot and keeping tention in the net as tight as i could, i was also keeping the knot as tigh to the ring as i could when i was tightening the knot. so now they are a lot tighter and look better cheers tony
