  1. thats why you should neck any animal shot, snared etc when you pick up (obviously not deer and other large animals as that would be impossible) but i gives piece of mind and stops a stunned one coming round and crawling off , same with shotgunned birds
  2. in my limited experience if you leave the shot ones out the others circle high above but often out of range, however if you set them up like they are eating with yuor other deeks (including pigeons) it brings them into land and once commiting to land they are are prey buti gfound camou to be crutial any uncovered skin will be spotted so stay well down behind the net until they are close then pop up and bang!
  3. just registered any little extra helps, its a bit of a pisser tho as my last order about a month ago was just under 600 quid, lots of missed points there, altho it probaly only works out at about 0.00000001 pence per point well my orders will only be around the £20-£30 mark is it worth it?
  4. its easy when everyone wants to try and rip you off, steel your identity or kill you whats wrong with the world theres nothing wrong with the world, its just all the c**ts that live on it well said

  8. running out of cider at that time it takes a couple months to ferment, made 1000 gallon this year the rats cant handle it at that time too much food lol
  9. i was asking holdaway the other day about trapworks selling the pro victor traps, however it is not really a problem that needs solving. i contacted killgerm and despite hearing mixed things they are great i orderv 5 of the victors with steep £8 postage and they rang me to ask if i wanted to pay less (£3) now i don't know of many companies that would do that tbh anyway they sent the stuff out sharpish and i recieved it today well packaged and everything you could want i also gt a call about how i had typed my credit card number in wrong and they would sent out a corrected invoice today aswel

  14. Pissing myself laughing now!!! That really tickled me........................... It's a fair point it is only scraps atm but in cider making season its 10 tons of apples
  15. thats not possible doubling up, would turn it into 2"x1" you'd have to treble it for 1"x1" just picking at straws me not if you offset it but i wanted them as lightly constructed as possible so as not to scare the rabs off
  16. could i use 2x2" mesh to make live catch rabbit traps out of or would they just trip it from outside?
  17. well said lol some people are best ignored
  18. wow this is ironic! yesterday i lost one of my ferrets he escaped with his friend out of the spare hutch when i was cleaning the main one, i found my poley on the lawn but my albino went wandering and was picked up on the road by some nice runners (close one). anyway i lifted all my trap when he escaped except for my snares a miles or so away. and when i went to check them this morning i had caught a poley but as i was getting colse he broke from the snare(after chewing it) and ran away. he weas huge and looked in brilliant condition conmsidering the stay in the snare. i was kind of gutted
  19. shoot the crows its much easier, put out pigeon deeks and you will always get a crow in and than expand the pattern with them then they come in thick and fast and if your a good shot(unlike me) you can get big bags
  20. where do you propose i compost my edible food waste it needs to be done as we have over 10 tons of mashed apple every year from cider making that gets composted rats just need controlling
  21. got one but lifted the traps cos me ferret escaped, caught him now so can reset
  22. unlucky, had another good one : 1 rat, 1 pigeon, 1 jackdaw, and 4 rooks plus i lost and found one of my ferrets
  23. sorry forgot to say that you`ve left it a bit late to cut pegs you should cut them after leaf fall in the dorment season as the sap is now rising, i dont know how this will effect wood cut now but it may make it more brittle? dont know!, could take longer to season i guess but if worst comes to worst ive got some meranti from work! might need a diamond blade to cut that stuff though! cheers hyperion yeah it will only take longer to season and tools will need cleaning more often, but in the long run it should be fine it will be more supple now cos of the sap andeasier
