Hi everyone. I've just got my FAC back with my Section 1 shotty slot, finally! Anyway I was always under the asumption that I could convert my standard 812 to FAC in a similar vein to an escort or benelli, simply by sending it to my gunsmith who would remove the crimp, magazine restrictor pin and then simply pop on a mag extension tube. Having read through other peoples post regarding magazine extensions for escorts, I knew they were a pig to locate but try getting one for a webley. I have spoken to Midway UK, TW Chambers and many others and shockingly TW Chambers told me it is impossible to c

Semi Auto Hunting Shotgun Advice Needed
f.a.c.sam replied to 19powell90's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
If you've joined a game syndicate surely they will be a bit funny about you using semi's on a shoot day? Would you not be better off with a second hand over and under? However if they are fine with a semi then may I suggest you look at a webley & Scott 812 I picked up a brand new 3" multi choke, 28" barrel with 3 year warranty for £385 the other day and it shoots very well even with 28grams. -
Well haven't been out for a while, been too busy with the other hobby in my life, golf. Anyway I was getting too much stick so decided to put the clubs down and pick up the rifle and get out. Got to the permission about 11:30pm and had a nice slow drive round just to see what was what as the crop had grown so much since we last went we didn't know which bits we'd be able to get round. On the way round took a few rabbits for bait incase the fox wouldn't come into just the call. Well after a an hour or so we'd got about 8 rabbits and decided to find a good spot and see if we could call one in. H

Another Howa owner here, as others have said the trigger is the worst part about this gun, to say it is agricultural is an understatement. I am probably a bit more picky though as I have been spoilt with air rifle 2 stage jobbies, but I suppose if that's all your used to you'll get used to it. Mine shoots pretty much everything, currently shooting american eagle 55gr at £8 a box they are probably as cheap a 223 round as you can get, even if you reload. Get about an inch at 100 and 2.5" at a push at 200. Took a great shot on a fox cub at 150 yards on saturday night and it didn't even flinch dr

Great write up Whippeter, makes for interesting reading. Out of curiosity what made you choose the stingers over the velocitors, when I tried them both back to back I found the velocitors gave significantly better grouping than the stingers. Maybe see if you can pick up a box of them to pit against the yellow jackets. But as a general view on supersonic rounds I have to agree with the above comments relating to the speed dropping off below supersonic and getting the key holing. Myself I like to call them in a bit closer and use standard subs if I haven't go the 223 to hand, rather than taking

Kibworth shooting ground has got to be worth a look, clays, air rifle range and rimfire range. Go at your peril, as you may come out with a significantly lighter wallet than when you went in, I speak from experience. But on a serious note they have a great selection of both new and used air guns and shotguns, the guys in there also really know what they're talking about so if you're serious about getting back into the sport, it's defiantely worth a visit.

If you look just behind the birds i'm kneeling at the top of the photo haha. Couldn't believe they were still decoying at 10pm after they'd been out all day. Have you got your rem sorted out yet mike? Need to get out for some long range crow bashing with the 223 this weekend it's been too long. Hopefully have my variation for the hmr back next week too, then I can go shopping

Well after a number of unsuccessful trips out recently just squatting in the hedge line in jeans and a t shirt I decided to finally embrace the camo. Went out and bought myself a full gilly suit with balaclava, then got myself some deben realtree APG HD netting and some decoys. We got in place around 6pm and decoyed until about 10pm by which time we had ran out of cartridges but the birds were still coming, we were just under where they come into roost so they didn't have much choice but to fly over us. Just goes to show all these times I sniggered at people in full camo, they were wearing it

Ian I'll take this please. How would you like paying, paypal?

Well I finally bit the bullet and bought an FAC air ranger. It's a 40ft/lb .22 although I haven't had it chrono'd I have no reason to doubt that after I took it out hunting. Was very impressed with the grouping despite it being a windy day, I'm using H&N baracuda's which the guy I bought the gun off gave me, seems to like them a lot, what else do you guys recommend bisley magnums? The one thing I don't think I can live with on the gun is the barrel, my word is it long with the mod on! I'm thinking of having it chopped by A & M custom gunsmiths, the question is how much should I have cu

Best price for Variable lightforce 170 Lamp
f.a.c.sam replied to SikaTears's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I found these guys were the cheapest when I bought my variable blitz, had a standard lightforce wiring issue causing the lamp to stop working sent it straight back with no questions asked and had a replacement 2 days later. http://www.shootingshop.com/categories/lamping-equipment-25.aspx -
I would have to fly the flag for the wildcat predator 8. Very similar to the T8 mod already mentioned, but it is a lot easier to strip down for cleaning. You can also now get the compact version which is much shorter and lighter. You can also customise the number of baffles along with the weight, which should give you exactly what you want and they're not massively expensive either. As long as you clean it most times after use you should be fine, your zero only goes off when the moderator has not been cleaned for a while and then you rezero to account for this, then when you give it a proper c

Also the "extended end" you speak of is a sunshade attachment which screws into the end of the objective lens of the scope. It's used in sistuations where the sun enters the scope causing lens flare and glare, affecting the picture. Also prevents the sun reflecting off the lense giving away your position. Reduces usability at night as it restricts the amount of light entering the scope, giving a dimmer picture, probably doesn't make much of a difference.

What sub round in a .22 CZ 452
f.a.c.sam replied to whippeter69's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I've got a silhouette, same rifle except the barrel isn't nickel plated. I've found out of all the round the eley subsonic hollow points seem to be the best for me. I went through the process of trying all the different rounds out when I first got the rifle as different rounds suit different rifles, even people with the same rifle often find that their rifle doesn't like the same rounds their mate's does. The main criticism people have of the eley round is the fact they are actually a fairly dirty round compared to other 22 rounds, leaving quite a lot of fouling in the barrel, they also give o -
You're probably best going for a 243 imo. If you get into reloading, you to work up a light load for mr fox and something a bit heavier for deer. The shorter barrel life on the 22-250 is something which sometimes puts people off, because of the velocity of the bullet.

Very nice bit of kit there mate, what calibre did you go for? Make sure you give it a real good clean before you go out and zero it and if possible take the bolt to bits and give that a thorough clean, mine was covered in god knows what when i got it

Couldn't you just use the medium height ones which are too low and buy a weaver rail to raise the height by a few mill?

Forgot to mention I would be willing to split the gun and scope up if I get an offer on the gun first.

I have for sale an absolute mint condition Air Arms TX200HC MK3 in .22 with a beech stock. The gun comes with an MTC VIPER 3-12x44IR complete with sunshade and flip up lens covers and an Air Arms moderator which screws into the ½ UNF thread at the end of the barrel. The gun was bought about 2 months ago from Kibworth Shooting Ground in Leicester and has been used once since I bought it and has probably fired around 60 pellets I still have an almost full tin that came with the gun. The rifle is in mint condition with not a single mark on the stock, barrel or scope. I will also include a set of

I have both a nighteater and viper and out of the two I would say the viper is the better scope glass wise. However the annoying scb reticle it comes with would make it not as good as the nighteater which you can specify with a mildot however with the mamba you get the same mtc quality as the viper but without the annoying reticle and high turrets. Plus the mamba looks nicer

If money is no object I would have no hesitation in buying one of these. You would be the envy of all your mates! Zeiss Victory Diavari 6 - 24 x 72 T* FL -
Just got back from there this morning. All i can say is mental. Must have slept for about 5 or 6 hours the whole week. Clubs were amazing amnesia, privilege as well as eden and es paradis were awesome. People coming round your hotel selling club tickets will also try and convince you that they are selling the tickets at the best price and that the tickets are selling fast, but be warned they lie most of the time and we found even buying tickets on the door was sometimes cheaper than what they were offering so shop around! Although not in high season yet it was still buzzing and can only imagin
