  11. i'm a bit gutted to be honest as that was probably the best permission we had, except for the area we're camping on this weekend, but thats over 3hrs drive
  12. had a long drive upto angus a week or so ago to some ferreting permision we had last year, we had some really good days last year and i had been looking forward to hitting it early in the season, but when i arrived i was astonished to find the farmer had ploughed the main feild and planted barley in it.....this flat fieldwas covered in warrens the year before so i done a few sets on the hedge line and came away with only 9 rabbits, still it gave the young ferrets a chance to see what it was all about and i took a mate along his first time ferreting http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/

  16. i almost went but chose borders colledge instead, wich to be honest i felt may have been the wrong choice, althoough that was over 10 yrs ago so maybe borders has improved
  17. have you made them yerself ? if so you'd prabably do better to make end pins for long nets as it seems everyone is having a go at rigging them

  19. if i were were you i would go for a lab mate, there easier to train/handle than most other breeds and are are bred for retrieving from water ect. i wpuldnt keep it in the house though, it'll just end up spoiled, to much attention can be a bad thing imo for a working gun dog. I'm no expert mind, just training my first gundog myself ! http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/rickynpp/oak047.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/rickynpp/oak051.jpg what ever you decide on, best of luck
