hey guys im looking to do a bit of deer stalking to see if i like it ive been shooting air rifles for about 5 years and would like to do my bit to help keep the deer population down . i live in the oxfordshire area so if anyone would like a tag-a-long id be hapy to come .thanks

Yes, I have seen this as well - i DID think about doing it to my mags for the S310, but then decided not to. I decided not to do it because of the very likely possibility of getting all sorts of crap and crud in the mags kinda made it taste somewhat 'sour' to me? before after you cant see the difference very much in these pics but ive used walnut wax instead of oil and no varnish realy happy with it..

Colour does not seem right for Walnut, although grain "could" suggest Walnut! Most likely Beech..... but a hell of a good one if it is!!! LEAVE it alone!!! ive stripped it and its more like walnut ...is walnut more dark in the grain as this is... kl thanks It's very difficult just looking at a picture...and grain/colour does vary on all wood...but to be honest the more I look at it I think I would go for Walnut! Beech is a very light wood and is most commonly stained to darken it..if you have stripped this and it is "DARK", it is unlikely to be beech. Beech
