    Its s shame, was really looking forward to it, the next closest to us was Cumbrian Game fair but it is also cancelled Had a few really good suggestions on here though, thanks everyone, just waiting for more information on one or two before we decide where we going

    I think this is why it is better to have gates when doing simulated coursing, clear cut which dog is in which dog is out, no-one can shout favouratism for a certain dog that way...not that i am saying anyone did just incase anyone thinks i am...god you gotta be sooo carefull what you say I just wished I had known it was a no gated simulted course and i would have took my bitch as she very rarely makes the gates for going where she knows the lure is going next I would also like to say that i am not criticising the racing team at edrd, just giving my view based on my experiences with other

    When i walk my three for an hour or more and they still have to have a mad race round the yard and garden when they get back..digging up all the grass and stuff

    I am a bit cautious when adding to this topic as my dog won the simulated coursing at 'edrd', granted he won overall because the owner of the dog from the second card pulled out as her dog was suffering due to the heat and the time of the day...i did offer to run the final later in the day if she wished but she declined and was happy with a reserve place...and i was even happier with a first, as you could imagine lol......but back to topic!!! I only started racing my dog this year, didn't know if he was going to be any good but gave him a try and he won a couple of races as a pup and i decide

    Do you know if there will be room for camping or if there is a site nearby? Could go back to our original plan that way I just had a thought, is not the location that has been cancelled?

    That would be really nice but the son wont go on the water Might be an idea for next year when he will be old enough to leave at home... will keep a note of all of these to look out for next year

    Did you have him checked by the vet when the accident happened and have you had him to the vet since the fit, if he was hit down one side he may have taken a knock to the head, very serious and can go un-detected for months. Hope your mate gets him sorted, good luck, Andrew.

    Thanks Barrie, i am not fussed about the distance really as long as it is a two or three day thing and we can make a long weekend away of it for the teenage son. Shropshire sounds good, have just had a look at it and the surrounding area and it looks promising, thanks, Andrew.

    Met mine on the old C.B Radio, took me a year to get through her front door, but once i did i never left.....nearly 15 years, the first year was great but after we got married i wished i had stayed on the doorstep

    pickering game fair is on all that weekend,andrew pickering has been cancelled...well the game fair has, gotta ring next week to find if there is a new venue and whats going to be on. thanks for the info on fenland, i will give them a ring

    Really peeved off now...rang to book for pickering game fair and its cancelled , thought i had a glimmer of hope and rang for information on the cumbrian game fair and its flaming well cancelled as well surely there is some two day event for racing and showing somewhere in the country for bank holiday weekend

    this dog was found yesterday (saturday 1st), it appears to be 12/14 months old, in very good condition, not known to any of us locally so thought i would put a pic on here incase it has been dumped, cheers, andrew. will be contacting animal control in the morning to have it scanned for a chip. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/uploa..._2389_68225.jpg

    my mate is also having another look down with us this year...he was not going to bother as both his dogs passed away since the last show...not really the same without them...we had both qualified for the show last year ...but niether of us have qualifield this year but that is the way it goes....just good to meet like minded people and see this seasons dogs and get some of last seasons stories...my mate and i have both got a pup each out of a litter i bred last year, so looking forward to dabbling with the racing,not sure how we will do but its all good fun

    went to billingham on sunday with my pup and my mate came with is pup to give them a run. it was a very good night and i be there again on sunday. thank you to all involed . i hope more people will come along to . you will meet more lurcher lads and have great laugh.
