  1. BedlingtonXGreyhoundxgreyound before bull breeds became the latest 'thing' we used Bedlington crosses Bedlingtons know no fear they hunt silent and the only reason I'd go for the extra Greyhound ist to give the cross a little more height and weight, if you realy wanted to go mad substitute the greyhound for a greyhoundx Scottish Deerhound , that cross'd take all your stuff and Santas Reindeer too!
  2. Personaly I'd be walking that pup everywhere where there are rabbits keeping him on the lead though.
  3. Greyhoundx Deerhoundx greyhound as you're after Deer might as well do the properjob!
  4. Good picture, last year there were four Hares in the field across the road from where I live, a stray Akita went in the field and started chasing them around till the owner of the dog arrived and then some nice police ladies who said that Hares were vermin so they couldn't do anything anyway! I managed to hold meself back from letting the old girl have ago, the farmer is one mean barsteward, and probably didn't shoot the Akita cos he didn't have a big enough gun!
  5. Irish 'Gypsies' don't speak Romany their 'native' tongue is erse or galic Ted Walshs' book 'Lurchers and longdogs' is a better read, these doggie sites and their magazines are a bunch of nonsense. I'd buy the dog to get it away from these halfwits.
  6. NO! if you wanted to pay over bloated K.C. prices you could still get you're expensive puppy working, but why bother? you can pick up peds and non peds for less money, breeders ruin breeds by their adherence to badly interpreted rules. The K.C merely set a standard, and the so called expert judges do the rest. that being said my first Whippet was awarded first place in a hunt supporters show despite having lost part of his ear in a fight with a barbedwire fence! the picture is my new nonped racing whippet It's ok buying a non ped but do you actually know what size the pups going to be?
  7. get em used to ferrets now give the dog loads of road work that'll sort out the stamina issue. I heard that someone trained a Saluki to retreive once huh! the things you hear! I'd need to see that to believe it!!! Aye! me'n a'! Did you read it in one of them old poaching books? Boy do they exaggerate in them............ Yes it might have been, let me think, oh yes it was called 'tales of a lying old b*****d who cornered a gullible twat in a pub once' I think

  10. Before the ban I took the odd fox I prefer shooting them any way, but to tell you the truth I never have known a dog that didn't go tits at the smell of a fox let alone the sight of one

  12. Six years old for a Whippet is not old, as has been said before loads of steady road work, if you have a sandy beach near by that'd be a good place to build up stamina.
  13. the head is a bit labby looking those ribs are from a saluki corse its from America a'things bigger over there it's done murder on that telegraph pole! gi' the poor b*****d a pie!
  14. As far as the age goes mostly I agree with every one else however the build part The Whippet bedlington part of your dog don't put on weight is he rough or smooth? you might have just inherited the 'Skinny gene' that I believe more than likely comes from the Bedlington part of the mix. I bred Whippetx whippetxgreyhound xBedlingtonxgreyhounds and I could never get them to put on weight.
  15. Thats a handsome looking hound mate, if my old Bitch weren't passed breeding I'd be calling you my self!
  16. Media hype fueled by some high profile cases of pit bulls tearing lumps out of people, over here they were snapped up by drug dealers and other choice specemins of 'humanity' they were paraded around sometimes without leads on and encouraged by their masters to attack any lesser breeds left tied up out side shops. We've got American bull dogs here now, so we can play spot the difference!
  17. You oughta try reading your own stuff back then
  18. That statement good sir is.........rubbish. Getting a good dog, any type of working dog is decreased if you buy from non tested parents, went to is kennels back in 1991 with my dad but not been since so can't comment on the standard of care.................... Okay non tested? so the collie don't work sheep and the greyhound ain't what? run a hare? legaly speaking it won't be alone, most collies wouldn't know a sheep from an ironing board if it bit them in the arse. Does a puppy know that? when a hman baby is born does it know it's going to be an athleite or a housebreaker? it doesn't kn

  20. Yeah Gungho the word, I called my Whippet Bedlington grew off a run because I was afraid he'd hurt himself by hitting the fence instead he ruptured a disc and to save him the pain and my self the agony of not being able to do what he did best had him put down. The sorest part for me was that he was my last link with my first Whippet.
  21. I've got WhippetXgreys bitch pup, she's extremely fast, but still only eight months, she recovers quickly between runs, and I run 'em over some pretty impressive ground, I've used Whippet cross Grews before when I bred WhipxgrewXBeds (Not neccerailly in that order) personally i find that the whippet infusion adds a bit more brain and trainability in to the mix plus shed loads of speed.
  22. Sorry mate you are right, I got confused by all the numbers .You have done a good job bringing her up.
  23. f**k me mate is she on steroids!!! she looks a cracking dog though lad!!!!! She doesn't need steroids she's a quarter bull. this is going on the fact that 3/8 plus 5/8 makes a whole of something, a pure grew would be a trifle more willowy than this wee hoond so what ever the other whole was it was substantial and smooth coated, old Rosie cider mmmmm! serisly bud why are all your post,s negativ the dog is not a 1/4...do the maths 3/8 5/8 to a pure grey would make her abowt 3/16ths Nothing negative except your sums 5 add 3 makes 8 so if the other 5 and 3 is greyhound the
