  1. i would like to add that although it wasn't either of our best nights lamping it was great to meet like-minded people and have told desertdog and bobafet they are more than welcome down here for a run, no rabbits but i'm sure we will think of something! ATB
  2. Thanks for comments not been online for a bit. She is doing fine fur has grown back, teets have drawn back up and she is looking much fitter, dont think she got much exercise but she is now coping with an hour and a half walk a day. At the moment she is hunting as she wants but i will be dogging in with her for a mate soon and will use that to tighten her up a bit and will pick up with her this winter. ATB .

cheers rod, i did post on this in lurchers and gundogs said she was found in Reading and had just had pups, "mate" is putting it a bit strong though. i know you bend over for anyone but i'm not like that!
  5. figured out how to get pics off my phone onto computer, had to really ran out of memory to recieve texts. just a few here everything shot by me and retrieved by the red bitch , black one is still a pup and wont work till next winter. had a good winter and the red bitch done me proud; cheers chester.
  6. good looking dog thought it would be heavier is it first cross
  7. she has been treated for mange and fleas and settled into kennel obviously she will have been called something different for last 5 years but if she will work the way she used to i will use her for picking up this winter, as i have just been made redundant should have plenty of time for picking up. otherwise she will just be excersised with lurchers .
  8. i did i also went to most of the local camps as there were travellers calling in area on day they were taken. police were informed and local vets but nothing was heard of her until now. Why would you think i hadn't reported it.
  9. only been back a few hours and she seems fine. she was found less than 20 miles from where she was stolen. cant really believe it myself i had given up hope of seeing her again.
  10. hi lads, sorry but this is not a lurcher its a spaniel but there is an outside chance of finding who stole her and the more people that know the better. the bitch was stolen approx 5 years ago and looks like she has been having puppies ever since. i got her back because she was found on the side of the road and taken to a vets and she was micro chipped. the bitch is still a bit milky and has hair loss on her muzzle and ears due to mange. she was found in Reading and so i would guess that a litter of pups has been sold in the area where the mother wasn't seen or had hair loss as mentioned. if
  11. she was micro chipped and my mobile number hasn't changed. vet scanned her and contacted me.she was dumped on side of road
  12. just had my stolen springer bitch returned to me due to her being micro chipped. she was stolen approx 5 years ago and looks like she has been churning puppies for that time. she is a bit milky so if anyone has bought a puppy in the Reading area and didnt get to see the mother or the mother had a touch of mange on the face( loss of hair but not sore) i would be interested to hear.cheers.
  13. hi, it's not difficult to do but quite hard to explain. i'll have a go: if you tuck the bird under your left arm with your left hand holding the right wing take the brail between thumb and forefinger of your right hand and pass it over the right wing so that it is against the body of the bird, put a twist in the brail so that it is a figure of eight or two loops, the loop that is not round the wing is then passed over the end two or three feathers, if you have done it correctly the wing will be as if held in a sling. it can be quite tight getting the second loop on especially on cock birds. ho
  14. hi. the list of individual tasks is endless and a lot depends on whether you will be rearing or not.when i started (24 years ago) i worked for a guy called robert cottam at the carmarthenshire and wales game farm. he ran courses for trainee keepers and i think he still does. might be worth your while trying to get in touch with him. ATB hope it works out for you.
  15. no he went a bit white when asked but was quick enough to put the others down by messer... p,s. Jampot haven't been called that for a long time. i take it thats your other dog in the picture. looks handy will it retrieve shot foxes.
  16. looks a nice pup. get your other dog sorted and we will have a night on mine as long as you dont mind walking. i here the tosser was at your club bet he didnt have the bottle for sparring, that would be worth watching.
  17. who needs comedy on the tele when you've got stuff on here as funny as that! were you dressed in white when he told you because he certainly saw you coming. sorry couldn't resist it no offence meant ATB.
  18. t8 on 22.250 am i right in thinking i can unscrew the roof lamp buy a fitting and scope mount it. its a 170. how do you overcome the glare problem. sorry for all the questions. I don't know about roof lights Pip so I won't comment. To combat the glare, people have used insulating tape across the lower section of their scope's sunshade, basically making the hole on the objective end smaller (sorry, it's awkwardly explained). Some cover the moderators with a non reflecting cover be it neoprene like a bush muffler or even a sock. There have been a few topics on the subject underst

  20. hi just wondering how you find scope mounted lamps i have s&b 8*56 on my .22 and my .22-250 and normaly shoot off a bracket on my drivers door using a roof mounted lamp. however we now have a new kubota rtv and i am reluctant to drill a hole in the roof. so been thinking of scope mounted lamp.
