  1. ok here is the way to treat shock in humans use the word WRAF

    Warmth

    Rest

    Assurance

    Fluids (if safe)

give the ferret plenty of fluids and then place hewr in a warm dark quiet place (such as her sleeping compartment) and leave her alone to come around ... when she has perked up give her small amounts of food but more fluids .........

  2. why his is house and garden a shithole, old and worn thats understandable but dirty ...thats a no no for me ...jmho..all the best snoop..

:good: Thats why i asked about his mental health, he may have been fine untill recently when everything has just got on top of him....but LB said he is sound, so thats not the reason then :hmm:

Plus i think you need to know how old is his current dog and how long has he had it. Might be in good nick cos he has'nt had it for 5mins.

    If in doubt.....do nowt.

    MOLL.

some good points there moll :thumbs-up: ... you can tell you work with window lickers :laugh::laugh: ......

  3. when i was a kid a bloke down the road pissed me off so i whent down the river ferreted half a dozen rats put them in a sack and at daft o clock the next morning i posted them through his letter box .... at eight the next morning he was knocking my door and asking my old man if i could come down with the terriers and ferrets to get rid of some rats he had in his house .... so off i whent killed the rats and he gave me a fiver (a fair of money back then) ...... now days though i am very much like misty and if some dumb fecker is dull enough to f**k me over then pain is the only revenge ............

  4. i find it pointless to breed whippet sized lurchers as whippets

will out match any small lurcher.whats the point in sacrificing

speed and strike for coat and stamina :hmm:

because with the estra coat the dog will be able to work for longer periods in harsher weather ... and as for stamina then it will obviously be able to have more runs on game ... simple really ......

  5. You've asked for opinions so here's mine.

I wouldn't mate the two of them together,I think most of them will turn out heavy set.But

then again you don't say what you want the pups to do when they are older.

If you are keen on breeding from the dam it might be a better idea to put a greyhound

over her,of course that would increase the height of the pups.

why do you reckon the pups will be heavy using a pure whippet but wont using a pure greyhound ????????

  6. there are many benefits from cooling the blood helping with skin problems and stopping dogs eating shite ... it is desinged to go in the drinking water cut a small piece off stick it in the water and change the piece every week ..........

Will do thanks ,i was also told its good to mix some with waste oil and rub it on to bald patches on a dog ..

what so the dog gets dermatitis .... listen mate just put it in the water ;););) .........

  7. it ok to let the dogs eat the bones just leave the skin on it stops the bone splintering other wise take bones out rabbit bones can splinter like chicken bones i aways gut them but if you feed them with skin on you will need to worm them more

rabbit bones and chicken bones DONT SPLINTER UNLESS COOKED IN AN OVEN .... get a raw chicken carcass and you will be able to crush it up in your hands without any of the bones splintering .... all raw bones are fine for dogs of all ages to eat .......

MY PUP AT 7 WEEKS EATING THEM NASTY SPLINTERING RABBIT BONES :D:D:D ..........

  8. i honestly love the mooching oppertunist type of lurcher that will take anything in a flash and be back by your dise with its prize ... i am not talking about a dog that is chasing a rabbit about to pick it up and then veer off because it has seen something else ... i am talking about the type of dog that will be heading down a beam to a sitter when a partridge flyes up in front of it and the dog deftly takes it from the air returens it to you then heads back down the beam to the siiting coney ... or when you are ferreting a hedge row and as you are setting the nets the dog trots up the hedge a bit and comes back with a pheasent .... thats the type of dog i like ... something that can think for its self and hasnt got to be mechanicaly controled and pointed and slipped ..........

  9. i got jeff to look at the black one and he said she had fluid on her back end

 WTF is that & what causes it?

whats wtf????? anyway he was right, he asked me had i ran her out of traps??????? i had 4 times week before,he said it was her banging on the traps wanting to go :clapper: mark

strange injury that none of my greys have ever had that and they have been in the traps a dam sight more than 4 times :D:D:D ..............

  10. When are you talking about [cutting their diet down] spring and summer I cut my dogs protien levels down a

bit,but when I start working them again the protien level in their diet gets increased.

Same as you mate but iv been told they build up muscle better when they have more protien i there diet.So surley when they work they build alot of muscle so why not let them build muscle when working.Just wondering really dont really know myself :hmm:

PROTEIN IS NEEDED TO BUILD MUSCLE AND TO BUILD MUSCLE YOU NEED TO WORK THE DOG ... SO THE HARDER YOU WORK THE DOG THE MORE PROTEIN HE NEEDS ... THEN THE MORE PROTEIN HE ABSORBES THE BIGGER THE MUSCLE WILL GROW ........
