    I think you're right but i've never seen one before so looked in a bird book and think it could be a short toed eagle. Any experts out there?

    100% a bird, it's the 10% that baffles me

    Hi stoaty, it could be a female hen harrier but it has'nt got any barring on it's breast, could this be because it's a juvenile from last years breeding?

    it was brown on top so would have to be a female but no dark streaks on breast

    Happy New Year pal, do'nt know what the situation is back at home now (i've lived on Crete for 20 odd years now) but back in the old days I always got my tripe from the local slaughterhouse. Hope this helps
