    Had a look out last night for a bit of ratting, took the usual suspects (Nipper and Red), the farmer had just cleared all of the byres out so stayed for about an hour and managed a few more than usual . Pointer managed to shoot a few but this was the only one we managed to salvage from the wall cavities, all the rest dropped down . Tried to tidy them up a bit hope this is better :11: .

    :11: :11: :11: :11: Don't have time for that at 10.30 p.m. Would have stayed longer if Pointer the pussy didn't want to get back so he could get to bed because he was getting up early with the dogs .

    Another local trip out ratting. Had "Red" the first cross Plummer Nuttall dog, "Tess" the Lurcher and my Plummer "Nipper" with us. Had a mooch for half an hour with the dogs, a few rats around but hard to get at with all of the clutter . Pointer managed to shoot a few with the air rifle but they just dropped down the cavities in the wall so these are the ones we got with the dogs.

    Well I do enjoy ratting once a week (hopefully a bit more over Christmas) and an hour or so bushing every night flushing out the odd rabbit and other vermin but hardly would call it hunting. I take Tess the Lurcher out occasionally but can not stand the Pointer he is a f g idiot , it’s like taking a JCB out with you :stupid: . :11: :11: :11: :11:

    Totally agree You need to get on the floor and get some serious playing done with that dog until it trusts you again .

    Spot on Shiny . Toka, for the all round type of dog you are looking for, I think the Plummer is the way to go .

    I am also proud to be English , I love this country but would like some better weather but you can't have it all . I can't speak for the rest of the country but up here in the North East we are a friendly bunch with beautiful countryside, historical sites, good food and plenty of drinking goes on and I am sure you would receive a warm welcome . I have been to America twice, the people were nice and it was cheap but that is all I can really say about the place, hope you do visit and enjoy. I think our little island is definately worth the trip .
