Only took a few pics of the first lurcher class (bull x) then got fed up cos I couldnt get anywhere near the ring because of all the parked cars Was a gorgeous day, and the show had the makings of a lovely day but was spoiled by some idiot who had an out of control bull mastiff-type dog which was unsupervised and left on an unsubstantial rope lead & broke loose and attacking the dog next to mine in the rough coated dog class Wasn't nice to watch a dog like that aggressive, loose and uncontrolled in that sort of environment with young children about, let alone the damage it did to

it seems to me that if a good percentage of plummer type terriers came from forsyth's pip and breeding tight to those lines produced reasonable earthdogs. then it is possible to do the same again if you were willing to come outside the breed and outcross to the right sort again. the people that had these earthdogs must take some of the responsability for not improving this line and building on its successes. ive heard many stories of the old stuff being capable from good sources. if thats the case what happened to these lines. a good bolting bushing terrier will also suit me. but i'm sure

THIS THREAD HAS JUST GOT BEYOND IT. accussations lies and now staged pics. get real -
i'm not a border man and agree that worker to worker is one way to produce workers . but its not the only way some workers will produce nothing no matter what they are put to. if you go to strong working bloodlines and put these lines to the front of the pedigree and get the offpring to the right homes you will be improving whats about there is no doubt about it. i take my hat off to anybody that are trying to improve the working qualities of any breed in any way. there are a lot of folk that will jump on threads like this. ask them for there credentials let them show you what they have achei

hi mattyg. i remember your pup glad you are doing good with it have lost contact with craig a'm afraid. he is a solid dog just what you would expect from a first cross. never been layed up since i got him captain scarlet oldskool. he is a heavy dog almost like a giant terrier. fast enough for rabbits lamping and ferretting and ideal for knocking about with the terriers. he has a no nonsense attitude to hunting . but is a yard short of pace. if you add more running dog into the mix i feel you lose most of what i like about him. thanks for the kind remarks -

Got myself one of Wyremeads pups, Bilbo now 5 months old, spoke to Glenn, full of advice and help as were all on the epts forum and the workingplummerterrier forum... i wanted a bushing dog, rats, rabbits mainly and so far he seems to be coming along fine, using his nose like mad... by all means give Glenn a call, advertises through Countrymans Weekly mag. if you can find details for any of the other groups all will give good advice, i can only speak for glenn as i have met and spoken to him, the pta and ptcgb i have contacted and spoken to by forum but not in person. get in touch wi

good job done. better that the cubs where acounted for. terrierwork where and when it counts the most much better than a shot vixen this time of year. the cubs in my opinion didnt need to be in the pic but thats just my take on it. regular and efficient fox control in the winter months is the key. i find terrier work this time of year distastfull but realize its a job that has to be done. but dont think i'd take pics to be honest. -
rats, rabbits and bushing mate most will do that job for you the PTA. IS JUST AN ASSOCIATION. and there will be people that breed with different priorities. ie some will breed with work as the main priority and some will breed with form as there main priority. its your call but if you want a good worker then go to someone that breeds for work. and works them themselves. good luck.

what do you plan to work your terrier on mate??
