    Lol a was twenty mins today 40 the other day getting her a thought taking the mickey here but when a seen her her nose was to ground still tried leading her praise when she cones back think sometimes its jus in them can b very frustrating

    I generally snap no to them with a tug on the lead an a sit in the same field as them jus chill let the dog see theyre no there to pursue an any attention they show I jus re iterate the same as above

    Ye mate thats the only way Id keep them they do abit of everything flush to big dogs work below jus general mooching types. They compliment each other doesnt always work out but I enjoy the work they bring for each other

    Hes jus under 13 a wouldnt worry to much with weights etc aslong as they look lean enuf an enuf energy about them to do as u require them to do the rest isnt really to relevant

    A dont weigh them mate hes spannable an a dont have big hands. They learn there wee bits n bobs from around five months with me jus a wee hour an build them up couldnt hunt any other way

    Finished work at 3 today and headed out with the terriers for an hour took the two russells an the misses old paterdale. Parked up an let dogs s out and walked down an old closed of road thats got a big wood on left hand side. Anyhows my Russell dogs the main hunter as the bitch has only jus turned a year he picled his nose an off he went tem mins passed an silence still jus the odd crackle of branches to let me know they were still plodding an out pops a very small vixen so I expected to see the dogs somewhere around as my main hunt was on the bunnies.     My old hunting buddy had a border russell bitch got her off a guy at a fishery he used her for mink but she kept nailing the ducks etc. First sett he walked to she went straight in never looked back sadly got killed in a drain I never had the pleasure of seeing her pitty he rated her highly. Pitty the borders are used more an more for cash as no doubt the right kind could still produce similar when out crossed

    Cheers buddy shes 7 months now so the summer will allow plenty training with long days and nights great for walking through lambs etc and she should be jus at the right age for the silly bunnies at the start of the season for confidence

    Just as the season is done thought id ask. Probs been asked a good few times already. I always had lurchers an my mate had russells I got out often with his and thought at the time I couldnt handle there drive real hard at it above ground and could hold there own below and even after a good run out after an hour back in the kennels they were wired and I planned to keep mine indoors. After a few seasons discussion with him I got a black dog in he was alot calmer in the house very protective and although he wasnt as good above he made up for it below although he was off more than he was on.     I ll have my pup starting out next season with her mother hopefully she ll pick a few of her traits towards the end al start to take her herself have a wee chance to see how much shes learned so she aint relying on her mum well thats the simple plan see what spanner nature will throw into the works

    I think maybe the way he posted about her injury and had time to reply to folk about it rather than getting the dog seen. Ive seen myself ring the vet out his bed for advice on keeping it ok till I get to him that morning like most lads id imagine put the dogs welfare first. U wouldnt tell ur kid with a gash like that we ll miss hospital tonight pal have calpol. Not having a go I know hes ur buddy but rather than drag on back and forward let the boy learn his lesson and if he chooses not to learn then that be on his head too. Atb with the dogs injury hope she makes a full recovery
