It IS your responsibility as the occupier to keep the premises free of pests. That means that you have to pay to have it done. Your local authority (or council if you like) will have an environmental health department, which will probably run a pest control section. Most councils (all but 2 in England) offer a service, either using in house staff, or a contractor. The councils subsidise the service to make it more affordable, and lots offer a free service for rats. Which local authority area are you in? thanks guys alot of you are saying to get the local authorites invovled do you meen the council as when i contacted my housing assocaiton they told me that it was my responsibilty as set out in my tenancy agreement. i dont think thats is fair as rats are surely a health risk and it would be in there intrest to insure that eny rats/pests were proplery and safley delt with once again thanks everyone

hi guys i have just moved into a new house and i have a huge oak tree at the bottom of the garden there is 5 holes around it what i asume are rats. eny ideas how i can catch them i dont realy want to use poison as i have dogs , cats and small kids i have tryed traps but cant seem to catch eny i know they are there as i have filled the holes every time they are open in the morning cant use airgun as the naigbours dont like guns i have even tried filling all the holes exept one and puting traps with a box over the top then puting hose pipe down it with no luck .dont laugh eny ideas p

are thet the same company as decoying direct if so there is a company called decoy direct who have put up on there site that they are nothing to do with them as they are getting alot of calls where pepople want there goods seems that alot of people are having probs with decoying direct so beware

right guys and gals just butcherd my first fallow deer yesterday and was wanting a good tasty recipe for the shoulder i am looking for something with lots of flavor and sweet but reamaing savory prefrebly roast eny good uns not with chocolate though lol many thanks

i would pay for it if i had to at the end of the day we go pigeon shooting to get enjoyment out of it not just to help the farmer as with most hobbies we have to pay for it you dont play golf to help the green keeper i think those who say i wouldent pay to shoot pigeons are only saying that becuse the have got land at the moment what would happen if they lost it they would pay £40 pound sounds ok to me try offering a small one off payment as they might take it and let you shoot for a year if you cant get it free pay at least you will be shooting birds when the others have no land

I STILL HAVNT RECIEVED THE SAT NAV AFTER HE SAID HE HAD POSTED IT ON 3 DIFFRENT OCCASIONS !! ITS NOW GONE TO PAYPAL DISPUTES AND THE GUY HASNT BEEN ON LINE SINCE LAST THURSDAY,THE LAST TIME HE PROMISED ME IT WAS IN THE POST. Waste of a wonderfull creature,, do they really do that much harm, damage ? and are they found in the huge numbers they used to be ?,, i think they should be left alone,, i hate to see them get shot a scury away to a long and painful death,, the kills just aint clean enough for my likeing,, and the strong aswell as the week are getting killed,,shooting hares,,, what a waste of such an athlete,, This is an annual cull and not to be confused with a regular shooting activity.
