  1. couldnt walk by any game with mine of the lead f--k me they would have it in the bag well done if you can do that Thats the whole point of training em before you run them would never work a Dog till its second summer or a Ferret to be honest, most working stock is ruined before its got its Adult teeth, hold a Ferret back a year treat it like a pet then tell me I am wrong, Skulkers be a thing of the past!! but back to dogs any man and his brother can get a running dog bred dog to chase takes skill to tell them when they can do it and really starts the grey matter up ie stalking and not run
  2. since those early days i have learned plenty and have a great love and understanding of working Lurchers, training dogs to a high standard not happy if i could not walk a dog at heal past game no lead without it running in let alone chasing sheep lol love Beardie border x greyhounds and would love to hear the merits and faults of other base line crosses Sight Hounds have there place but let me here from you Lurcher boys
  3. my introduction to hunting came from a first x alsation lab when i was aged 14 on waste ground in Manor Park east London a place known as the whippets as i understand there was a flapping trap there pre or maybe during the war, confirmation from a learned person would be so great, at that time i had no idea i carried the hunting gene but on taking said dog Rex out for pm walks it became apparrant the dog had an addiction for working up and finding Hedgehogs and i just loved it, would take a bread basket to put them in and loved to whatch him scenting up, one time while over there daytime he st

  9. Great pics, Tidy little dog for sure. big fan of Whippets, fast clever and hunt up so well for pure bred sight hounds Mmm may be talking myself into trying one but i do love me Collie blood and also thinking some pointer or Brittany blood could be very intresting! any one got a Lurcher bred this way?
  10. got a ferrett that can take em but gotta be a short slip, real short, and its only a jill, thinking of breeding from her to produce a line of deer taking super Ferrets any one got a Hobb with the same skills must be polecat colourd as looks are important
  11. with the greatest respect to Mr Plummer and a dog called Celt, f**k off or was the hare coming back from a wedding, a pup of the age and breeding keeping pace, should never been off the lead in country with the slimest chance of a hare geting up beer tent hunting in my book bet he took a fox and a mink the same day, got home and made Eddie a bacon sandwhich!
  12. A puppies early days should be used up training and getting fit at a slow pace, would not consider running a dog till i could tell it not to chase a rabbit when off the lead and at liberty! then you may just have a dog that HUNTS and does not just chase, any dog will chase there is no skill in that, yea they may catch some and you may think you have had it off but back in the real world, you may just have a 2 bob rocket!!!
