  5. As I understand stainless resists wear better. Tends to be used in barrel burners - small calibre high velocity steep twist rifles. (.220 Swift leaves barrel at 155,000 rpm). b*****d to machine so not used in actions. RicW I dont know anything about gunsmith work but i thought the machining of stainless was alot easier now not sure about the past but now for barrels etc they add more sulphur i think this makes its grade 416 it is surely softer so it machines better liam Yep 416 is the easiet stainless to machine but is not a corrosion resistant as other grades or SS. Hu
  6. Shit.....was that dog pulling a car lol?? What is the point in the dog dangling off a tyre though?? Hughesey

  9. a .22 is 5.58mm a .177 is 4.5mm and .14 is 3.55. So not quite microscopic lol
  10. because its for my cousin and he needs the money
  11. have you just made this up or is someone actually making a gun in .14? I think they would have a really flat trajectory but would over penetrate more so than a .177. Also being only just over 3.5 mil they would probabley be a bit on the light side so wind could toss em everywhere. Hughesey
  12. Paid £300 with scope. I thought thats a good price compaired to some shops, plus the shop is only 200yrds from me, and the owner will provide good support as I got it from him. Bloody hell, thats a good deal, take it its a second hand one? I really fancy a scorpion T10. Hughesey

  22. I was kinda hoping that someone on here would know that kind of info as i know there are some fountains of wisdom on here lol. Hmmm sounds like they arent that interested? I was mooching around in atherton with ma mate the otherday and saw a few big rabbits in a field so im going to ask the farmer at weekend so hopefully that will go well. My tutor told me that there a sht load of squirells liing in the mini woods behind the wokshops at college, its a pity they always seem to pick a safe place to live :realmad: Ryan
  23. Hmmm I hadnt read anything about the choke, when id been looking on the internet. How would a gunsmith do this as they cany possibly make the recut barrell smaller at the end could they. Hughesey the answer is obvious buddy, cut it at the other (breech) end. it'll then need to be re machined to fit. ahhh i see lol. Is the barell threaded at the breech end so fit into the action then? If so it wouldnt take to long to do. Does the bore and o/d of the barrell run true to each other (concentric)? Hughesey sos.... big-word boy.. it narrows towards the end its not concentr
  24. He asked me to put it up at 595 on here with silencer and scope. He defo wouldnt sell it to a shop at that price. Hughesey
