  6. what ever about the dogs ,the place was a muddy mess ,i take it rain was heavy then lol..
  7. it will be all meat derived food when i start,my greyhound training mate told me there are jars of baby food in the markets also that is very benefictial to the pups ,but mostly blended chicken/tripe and scraped beef,
  8. Yeah that's what I'm thinking, would their internal organs be able to cope so soon with food in them
  9. What I'm asking is, would it be too soon to feed them...anyone ever hear of 2and a half week old pups eating for themselves...I've not done the breeding bit much,so I'm unsure
  10. What you folk think about starting to wean them, their 2 weeks and 3 days old but are sucking fingers and playfighting, and walking about a little,is it too soon to start feeding yet,...I've to worm them next week too,got the bottle of wormer at the ready
  11. Flying gnipper, their fat and happy like meself....I've been studying them from the day they were born and I still can't choose a keeper yet,lol..I've narrowed it down to 3 I think, but 2 more weeks will make a big difference
  12. what kind of money did you spend on that Dave if youdont mind me asking ,
  13. we used to run the dogs single ,slip for slip and the deerhound x were not rubbish, they just wernt as good as some lurchers i saw ,and they wernt all saluki x either,i found once we got a few early mornig runs ,after dinner they used to wain in the energy department ,on the straight up run ,they were fast as fuk but some (not all) were poor on turning but could make up for it on the sprint again,i saw them catch plenty ,i never saw them on deer as there wernt any where we hunted, and the lad that had them was a greyhound trainer and knew his dogs and only kept the best ,PTS the ones that didnt
  14. hey hey,im sold lol...im going to try spend a few quid after x mass and get me a new gun,im well happy with my cz but its shabby now ,so its time to change and get another to make shabby, lol thanks for that definitive answer, much appreciated
  15. ok im talking about 1st cross deerhounds ,a mix between 1 greyhound and 1 deerhound ,nothing else in the mix,and ive seen plenty years back, they were not rubbish, all im saying is there were faster more agile dogs out there than them, plus the ground and electric fences played a big part in their running style, and we were mostly on hares at the time, with the odd fox thrown in,and if you read what i wrote ,once their mixed again with another type lurcher they then become a very good all rounder at times ,hell I like the deerhound x ,i just find other stuff more suitable for what i want ,no doubt
  16. ive been out with lots of deerhound x dogs ,ive seen a couple that i thought were honest dogs ,and the one thing that i concluded on ,...they all lacked stamina,we were almost soley hunting hares ,they did have power on the foxes ,but at 28 tts plus, they would be embarrasing if they hadnt, the one thing i found with them is they couldnt turn tight to save their lives but they did make up ground on the straight,..when x into other lurcher types ,i think thats where they improved in a few qualities ,speed and turning and reducing size..there is/was one here in Ireland that was a right good dog,my
