hi all, i was just wondering what your opinions are on this as i am after something that will flush, retrieve and work alongside the lurchers. i no most will suggest a spaniel or another conventional gundog but i want a bit more versatility as in doing a bit of ratting etc. ( no digging). And after all i dont need a dog that works to most shooters requirements, like i said just flushing and retrieving. Also what type would you suggest as i have seen a few borders but nothing else? cheers sean

hi all, in i was just wondering what your opinions or past experiences are with kennelling more than two dogs together? i have never had the need to kennel more than 2 dogs together myself. obviously it depends on the dogs but whats the general opinion???? cheers sean

hi all i currently have a patt pup that is from gould lines allegedly and seems too have little bull in it as far as looks and a rough coat. what are the different characteristics of the different sttrains of patterdale (nuttall, gould etc) in terms of size, formation, coat, temparement?????? cheers sean

I can see the point thats being made as a dog thats been reared on the sofa whilst mum strokes its head is gona be a bit of a wimp towards things its unsure of and will lack the independance that a dog that spends a reasonable amount of time on its own. i have found that a dog thats pampered will cause problems somewhere along the line. i found out the hard way!! I just think you have got too strike a balance between the two. in an ideal world my opinion is that a dog should be kennelled outside and i am sure most will agree regards sean

hiya all, I currently use an fn19 for rabbits but i have just been given my ticket for an FAC air rifle and was wondering if i could uprate my gun to say 25 - 30 ft pounds?? my local gunshop says a guy called Terry Robb does kits for them??? ( heavier spring and seal) i know the amount of full power shots will be limited however i really like the falcon and dont want to change it. any info or a point in the right direction would be a great help cheers sean

hiya mate i take its a beardie x not a border. i have a 12 month old 3/4 grey 1/4 beardie and is coming on great. only downside is that they need entertaining all the time. even more so than the borders. good luck with the pup, i would be interested in how she comes on and compares to mine. cheers sean

I have to disagree mate no matter what ur chasing it is better have something that is bred to chase. coursing greyhounds were bred for a reason, because others ( racers etc) got injured to easily or didn't have the stamina. And this is the same for whippets. if i wanted a whippet x greyhound i would want the best greyhound blood and the best whippet blood. both being coursing bred dogs imho. different people have different opinions but i think you are just nit picking here for the sake of doing it.

Hi all, my collie x is 11 months old and will sit, stay, down and scratch my arse etc however when off the lead she turns deaf coming back when she wants and if there is another dog shes gone. she doesnt stay close either. she will walk to heel off the lead but as soon as i tell her to get on thats it. i have 2 other lurchers that i have trained and are very obedient ( neither of these are collie x's). a few people have reccomended the training collars? how would these help me? what are the best for my needs? it needs sorting as she could put herself in danger and me in trouble. and obvi

Went to the show today and was surprised at the turn out. i got abit peed off [bANNED TEXT] the fat scruffy bloke walkin round trying to sell his lurcher. poor thing , it made me mad. i half felt like buying it and the other half wanted to level him. if only i was big n ard'. i think these people give field sports a bad name and fighting the *** is like hitting our head against a brick wall with these scrotes about :realmad: However the racing was good to watch and my salukix came 2nd in the over 23in 414m, was exciting watching your dog racing as i go greyhound racing alot. Looking fo

get a good collyxgrey over it mate should have plenty pace and stamina personally i wud put it to a bedlington whippet to gve a decent allrounder. this is a rare cross but i think it would throw a whippet with a bit of stamina

hiya all, i no that deerhound x greyhound is a popular cross and would think that they make an exellent coursing, foxing dog. however how do they fair on small game like rabbits. i would think that their turning ability is limited and there accelleration is poor as they are a very large dog. Do they lamp well??? what are your opinions/experiences with these dogs?? thanks sean

We are talking sighthounds aren't we??? I would choose a Hancock!! haha Nah small greyhound bitch everytime
