  2. thanks for the replies just had a go at smoking a bit trout in a sweet tin smoker i seen on jamie oliver the other night all yon need is sweet tin/biscuit tin with lid chicken wire handful of sawdust or shavings then all you need to to is stick a few holes in the lid, scatter sawdust in the bottom of the tin and cut and shape the chicken wire so it sits in the tin about an inch off the shavings put the fish on the wire on put on the lid and place the tin on a gas hob or stove (low/med heat) for five mins or until fish is cooked the smoker still needs some fine tuning regarding type

  4. have noticed it more on the main news mate but here in the north east its been happening almost weekly its getting worse the stabbings/slashings seem too be over nothing absolutely no need for it.i have a young son and often wonder how bad its going to be when he's older.

  7. do you fish any other rivers up here mate, i started fly fishing two years ago and have only fished stocked stillwaters, bought a cheap 4wt outfit the other week and been looking for somewhere to target some wild fish
  8. handsome fish mate, who owns the fishing rights on the wansbeck heard it holds some nice trout and grayling
  9. just wondered if anyone could help with fish smokers, been out fishing today managed one trout in a six hour sesh, not making excuses but sun was right up and wind didn't help either, anyway wanted to try something new with the catch so had a look thro mail order mags and on ebay for smokers but they seem a tad expensive so any help on how to knock one up would be gratefully recieved cheers TT
  10. peanut butter or chocolate spread works for me mate they can't pick it up and piss off giving you time to pick a shot off
  11. i agree mate lovely part of the country different class of fishin over there, i usually have a few trips a year over the mull fishing,shooting, camping etc trying for my first bass this year. would be nice to hear how you get on and what marks you fished . cheers tt

  15. Hi welcome, you could try feeding him!!!!! Ive got 3 terriers, always run the legs off them before they are left alone in house and they have loads of toys and chew sticks to keep them happy, havnt chewed a thing.............up to now thanks for the replies. he does take some tireing out ive noticed ,i give him knotted hide bones to chew on but they don't last long and don't want to be giving him too many incase it makes him ill
  16. hi just joined after having had a good mooch around on the site, loads of stuff on here that floats me boat used to visit the sight a few years ago looks totally different now. just got meself a border pup which has developed a taste for kitchen doors anyone have any tips on how to stop him chewin my house up. cheers
