Hey my fell terriers teats always get a bit swollen on her season, it doesn't seem to bother her though. She is still fairly young i had her at the vet the other day anyway and they seemed to think she was ok

I tend to get my terriers yearly boosters, but wouldn't force it upon it on anyone to do so. I think its personal preferance, i know some who never worm or treat fleas but there dogs seem fine, i think it depends on where you work them and how many other dogs they are likely to see, i tend to work in some fu**ing manky places that are crawling with disease and my dogs see loads of other dogs, it's just when i was younger i knew a guy who lost a cracking terrier to parvo and have seen a few pups lost to it, so it kind of scared me a bit, so i guess i just do it to put my mind at ease, as i sai

Hey cheers buddie! Nice to get a wee compliment for your mutts now and then, ive just retired the border in the pic the black un is almost 2 and coming on great, the Fell is a bit younger still and has seen rats so far.

You dont know what your missing, i might sound a bit sad , but its a brilliant feeling to see your lurcher run !! Nah it aint sad at all, i know i love to see my dogs work, mabye one day ill have the plaesure of owning one.
-
If i had the choice to let some run i mabye would but fact is where im from and where i work my dogs, foxes are munching up pheasants at the rate of naughts! Sometimes it would be nice just to see them run as i have a good bit of respect for my quarry, but for some places all must go even a whole family sometimes and that makes me feel real bad but it's what must happen sometimes if foxes are far to thick on the ground...

Hmmm nice haircut! I wonder how long it would stay nice and fluffy like that if it were working!
-
Yup my dogs are pretty much what my wee life revoloves around LOL!

Hi I use a cream called exmarid, you can actually pick it up at pets at home, it's kind of like brown and thick in colour, it treats skin conditions and minor cuts quite efficiently , its about 3 quid a tub but it lasts ages! Kate

Wrote a message on this last night but being stupid as i am couldn't work out how to downsize my pics but ive sussed it now! My point was that some bitches are harder than a few of the dogs going around but also that one of my bitches a red Fell terrier is built like a brick sh#t house and is often mistaken for a dog, she's a fiery big bugger not been to ground yet as she is still quite 'puppyish' had plenty of rats to get her in the mind sett though! A photo is attached, this was taken december 07 when she was nearly a year old out ratting in the partridge pens, god knows what she'll look lik

I have a good working border bitch, she's getting on for retirement now though but she came off some old dandyhow lines don't know if thats any help! She looks like what some would call an Australian type border, with a more usefull head, she's never failed me anyway! Have included a pic if that helps? Kate

HEY!! Nice boy you got there!! Ive got a border bitch myself she's knackered now mind you!! Only 8 years old but had a lot of hard work! A great hardy wee dog, i'll always have a soft spot for borders but won't deny the fact that good working borders are getting harder and harder to come by! It's a sad fact but the show world is surley trashing these wonderfull dogs!

Hey thanks! Everyone is great in here, nice dog, big fox eh???

HEY! CHEERS the journey is well worth it, and i love that part of the country too, so much vermin to have! Massive pig units and big phesant shoot means tonnes of rats and plentifull foxes!! Is that a border i see in your picture??

Ive always worked with bitches, the first working terrier i bought was a bitch AND a border terrier at that! SO many people told me she would be sh*te, needless to say she proved all the mouthy folk wrong, she's a hardy bitch with alot of heart and would die just to please me, now retired she is sorely missed, but she still gets to go ratting! The two "pups" i have are both bitches and are a hell of alot harder than my mates patterdale X dog. My wee patterdale bitch does lack in size but her heart makes up for that, she's as hard as nails and cocky too, her pal a red Fell is built like a brick
