Spot on oldnog, working ability first and last. Named lines fine as it gives an indication that the dog has had effort and thought put in to it,s breeding to produce whats required . It,s not a garentee though , as not all dogs will reach standard what evers in them , just how it is.Every thing else is subjective as we all favour different things ie breed , colour , coat ect. You can spend 20 years getting your own line or fork out on a garenteed dog the choice is up to the individual .No rules , so you can take the route that suit,s you depending on your free time , space and cash flow.....En

Never realized there were so meny "pest controllers" out there who have to hunt all year round to keep thier permision. Only been on this site a couple of months and starting t realise how meny lier,s bullshiters and general shites there on here .Seems to be kids and f**kwits bragging how they can kill anything anytime with thier dog,s.Pity really as there are some genuine folks on here with something interesting to say...As I say it,s a shame..

pest control is one thing , lamping cub,s ? only dickhead,s I know doing that are youngsters and feckers who shouldn,t be any where round fieldsorts. If you want to just kill stuff go round the pet shop buy some mice and get a hammer.Remember it,s called SPORT......

I don,t understand where the "show" element came in to the thread. People just questioning the use of unproven dog,s however strong your lines are. Not questioning your "right" to do it ,as you say thier your dogs to breed as you like.But if you post on a terrier website that your breeding unproven dog,s then what do you expect.Let,s ALL keep it civil though...

There are loads of good working terriers out there. Phoning up breeders or dealers will result in "farmed dog,s " though as as stated people like to make money. Can,t see what the problem is though in having a smart dog who can win a rossette and work .Check out the winners of the welsh this year.Looks don,t make or break a dog , sometimes we all look back with rose tinted glasses. I like my misses to work but prefer it if she looks good to!!lol,(only bit of fun)

Take it from one who has spoilt a good dog (me) that pushing to early only leads to regret , hindsight is a wonderful thing ,I wish I had listend but was to eager and paid the price on my FIRST lurcher..Time and patience my friends..rewards follow..

you can only pay whats in your pocket . some people got big pockets, some (me) got short pockets..But i got 4 well bred WORKING dogs 2 terriers 2 lurchers ,total cost £175..All do the job and in the summer won a couple of rosettes .. If i had more cash then i might have been less picky and took a chance but i cant .Waited for the right dog,s , lucky to have true dog men as mates and benifited cos they know i,ll do right by the dogs ,hence cheaper price...
