Like most of you ive had some great times with the terriers its a lot harder to keep within the law these days though, too many cragg rats watching your everymove, mobile phone ever ready to phone plod, i look back at the places weve dug and my heart starts to race....!!! how did we get away with digging in posh gardens, MOD land, shooting ranges, at the side of major roads...etc ect flask and mars bars in the net bag ready for the mid day snack... not a care in the world.
  5. Got a another picture of flint after a dig last time I looked at it, I thought it was too dark to put on.

  9. Right, moving on. Pepsi This bitch is in a few pedigrees, I dug to her a few times ( 1999 - 2003 ) not lots though. But More than enough to make my mind up about her. That statement "Not a lot "suited me fine, i was nervous round her, I always thought she wanted to bite me..!!, She was a good finder and stayer, what more do you need..? I Was on my to notts years ago, not really going for a dig more for a chat Half was there I got diverted to a sand quarry, were a few lads were on a dig, Pepsi was there fastened up, wanting in but a little Russell was nearly to a fox,

  14. Wirral My thoughts were that to much emphasis was placed on nice red colours, straight fronts, straight legs, joining the kc..etc etc....over working ability I found conversations years ago with enthusiasts, including chats with Plummer himself that left me totally frustrated on the direction people wanted the breed to go. Earthwork discussions, were moved to one side and producing a nice type that was presentable to the kennel club, showing etc.. was what people wanted to talk about, I remember putting the phone down and shaking my head in despair. All I wanted to do was mo

  17. NEWSBOYS Lucy and her son bob, PRE BAN Both excellent workers, Bob worried me, whenever he went to ground.... There was just a series of bumps and shuffles, never giving an inch Personally I always worried wether the deben bleep was working properly and checked and double checked when ever the collar was put on bob, i could not take the risk of it failing when it was on him Crawling about ear to the ground trying to get a mark happened often when the box packed in, normally we found our other terriers being worked, baying, Old bob never bothered baying..!! Privately I
  18. Lucy was the matriarch of out team and the reason why we were so successful She found dozens of foxes for us, because we run her loose, to work vast areas of bramble etc She hunted fox relentless, they had no option but to go to ground, lots of place were tight and she couldn't get in, ( to her frustration ) just her back end showing, If she did get in then the fox would normally be killed underground.
