  3. hi all, sorry if this seems a dumb question, but any advice on dry food, what is the best, I own 2 lurchers,, they go out most nights just mooching for about 1-2 hours but get plenty of fast runs in. currently feeding Kirkland signature, but seems to go through them some times? also noticed heavy plaque on there teeth. oh and while I am here,, feeding the swift 88 as a general conditioner, any thoughts? cheers, rob,

  5. hi, my very good friend runs the ACES days, he would be more than happy bring the kit down and run the racing. i would also put an add for the on the events and game fairs page for your show. all the best rob,
  6. just my opinion but the best option for your age and insurance + economy would have to be the Jimny! i have had land-rovers, other jap's and a navara,, but the best fun so far is easliy the Jimny. they are also very cheap and easy to up-grade,,, the one below has 2" lift and 235-75-15" which gives even more ground clearance, check out youtube for some good vids, all the best.
  7. i will be up for coming,,, see if you can get a few of the strong man compertitions on as well! the ones at "Pike Hall" were great! brick lift etc,,, all the best,
  8. the hounds, little blacky working the cover in the back ground, all the best rob,

  10. Hi, Do any of you know know of any patterdale x spaniel litters coming up or dog up to 2 years old prefered black rough coat? as a friend has been out with my lad a few times and now wants one for his boy. please pm me any details all the best rob
  11. Think you could be right any dog where demand out strips supply will rise in price! and that may attract peddlers? I always thought that it was EBT that was added to the wheaten, Hack Town Jack? the dog did well at the trials then every one was crossing in bull blood? The straight wheaten then became unpopular and working examples got harder and harder to find. personally I think it would have been better to just use selected wheaten. the other terriers they have tried to add game bull blood to have suffer as a result? from my experience the straight wheaten is an easier dog to
  12. rob are you saying the bull x s you have seen or owned tended to be fighters if not taken out alone ? As a rule, yes, and tended to be even worse with other bull x's that were with other mates,,, but this is from my very very limited experience! I was more trying to get at the dogs going into the mix in the first place,, I have owned one or two Stafford's in the past and each tends different the main reason for this is the trait that line was looking to try keep! all the best rob,
  13. hi guys, new here,,, but here goes, surely it has more to do with the bull or wheaten used,,, from my very limited knowledge the bull x I have seen and been told about, the people who own them have little or no clue as to the bull that went into them? Staff, Irish staff, pit etc,,,, not sure if i have ever seen EBT? i know they use them in boar dogs, dogos,,, Having owned one or two Stafford's and been about them a fair bit they are all different! as a rule the ones breed closer to what you could call "game" tend to be all out for scrapping but the ones that have a higher prey drive ten
  14. Murphy and his missus are lying in bed listening to the next door neighbour's' dog barking. It had been barking for hours and hours!. Suddenly Murphy jumps up out of bed and says "I've had enough of this". He goes downstairs. Murphy finally comes back up to bed and his wife says, "The dog is still barking. What have you been doing?" Murphy says "I've put the dog in our yard. Fookin' see how THEY like it !"
  15. cheeky sod,, that weight pull is "heavy" stuff and proves the dog has a certain amount of potential to continue the request of his owner even when the going gets tough! I for one have respect for dogs that put that hart and sole into it! i do however realize that this has bugger all to do with hunting,,, ha ha and in no way proves the dog for this! In fact can be exactly what you don't want,, heavy muscle bound dog only able to achieve short bursts of explosive energy,,, probably the main reason why me and some of the lads are trying to run more simulated coursing type meets,
  16. sorry had to jump in here, i think you may well have contradicted your self, you are right there is no such thing as a bad colour, i will have any colour as long as its not yellow! ha ha but to continually breed from a line of dog with no rhyme or reason other than the colour it bad practice, the boring bit,,,,,,, the gene responsible for the blue colour is recessive to all other colours in the Stafford therefore to achieve full blue litters the only dogs that could have gone into the mix were blue (or dogs containing a high percentage of blue). Facts are by narrowing your choice
  17. what a great show! my type of thing and got to chat to some "right nice" people! brick lifting! now that's not a good idea drunk! managed 17 for 10 seconds but put them down to fast!!! ha ha cheers for putting on a good one! hope the auction raised a lot for a good cause! all the best,
