  1. Country covers are the dogs bollocks, wear mine for work and play, cannot fault them. Tried seeland, deer hunter, Barbour etc, ok for one day a week, but not 24/7
  2. Gidday Mate - What do you hunt for ?

  3. Niall, Please do'nt be too despondent, I've caught my fair share and it is an easy mistake to make. Take it easy Happy St Patricks day RT
  4. Niall, Sorry to bear bad news As mentioned already it's a hen salmon Kelt. Basically this means it has spawned last winter, and would be on it's route back to sea. They take up this silver apperance after spawning, hence the term 'Well mended Kelt'. Cannot comment on Irish fisgeries law, but it's an offence to kill kelts in Wales, England and Scotland. Might be an idea to withdraw the pic If you need any more info please feel free to contact me
  5. I have often visited this part of Wales, and i have to say it is set in spectacular surroundings. I think that the Canada goose population is expanding rapidly in most parts of Wales, and no doubt will turn out to be a pest for the farmers but a blessing for local shooters. Is there a day ticket scheme to be had for wildfowling on the Mawddach?
  6. Real interesting stuff Bigshrimp, it's always interesting to see fieldsports from other parts of the globe. I must say that i did not realize a moose was such a huge creature, great pictures, Regards Teifisalmon
  7. The recapture of the woodcock in the same field is superb, but did you know he has done the same with a second bird this season? Really good work and interesting stuff.
  8. In my opinion the woodcock numbers in West Wales are good at the moment. I see daily sightings and have had a few good bags whilst rough shooting with friends. Very interesting that you shot a Woodcock in Cumbria which was ringed in Sweden. Have heard of Russian ringed woodcock shot in West Wales.
  9. Welcome to the site. I'm not a regular poster on the forum at all, but visit the site most days. That's a cracking looking spaniel, is it from British or Swedish bloodlines. What are the birds? Had the pleasure of visiting Sweden in July, to a place called Vesterass. Loads of roe deer and pheasants to be seen from the roads!
  10. I have a 11 month old dog out of Maesydderwen Scimitar. Hunting and retreiving well, but wants to chase everything that moves!
  11. Cracking looking pair of spaniels. Am i right in saying that there are Maesydderwen lines in their pedigree? Best of luck with the training
