  5. I caught this starling and crow in two days after never catching anything else but magpies in my larson trap, just wondering if anyone else has had unusual catches in thier traps? photos would be good.

  8. as i was checking the trap today i noticed the long grass on the other side of the small holding had been pushed down in a small circle shape and as i looked near the hedge i seen a cub, just wondering what is the best thing do dispatch a cub if its in the trap?

  10. thanks again rolfe for the advice ill give it a good couple of weeks were it is as i think it is in a good spot.

  12. yep ive done what rolfe said and put the bait (a fresh rabbit) laying on the floor thanks for the advice everyone.
  13. i no i was gutted when i had seen he had been in there ill put bait at the back then, thanks rolfe.
  14. the trap is one that needs to have bait on a pull bar the bait wasnt on the bar as ive been told to bait the entrance of the trap first(a couple of days) to get them used to going near the trap getting food unharmed, is this a load of rubbish.
  15. sorry, i baited the front of the trap to get him used to going near the trap, the fox picked up the bait and walked into the trap (straight ahead) he then walked to the back of the trap and seen he could not carry on walkin , dropped the bait and went back out the trap leaving the bait still at the back of the trap.

I set my fox trap down a small holding yesterday , as the fox recently took my mates duck.I covered the bottom of the trap in mud and put a rabbit at the face of the trap.Today i found the rabbit at the back of the trap with fox prints in the mud he obviously picked up the rabbit and carried on walking straight ahead as th trap is quite enclosed by a hedgrow.Will this effect the fox entering the trap again as he was obiously not happy because he left the rabbit behind?
