  1. I have a falcon fn19 and would agree its a cracking rifle. I have mine chrono'd at 11.4ft/Lb and i feel guilty at the rabbits that are out a 45yrds that i have thought are closer that are hit and wounded by my lack of judgment and shooting ability. I use chairgun2 to check out which pellets will be best for me at different ranges and, my personal OPINIONis that a 70 yrd shot isnt viable, humane, or even realistic. Sorry to be blunt but its my opinion! Using chairgun2 with 11.4ft/lbs air rifle, zero'd to 35 yrds these are the stats using an Air Arms Field .22 15.900 grain pellet.. @
  2. have seen it work before, on a complete dog mind you but still.... "Hi.....(step back and eye them up)....yeah, you'll do!"
  3. I wouldn't know what im hitting at 20yrds. That grouping needed about 1/2" elevation. I do like the Falcon, but want to be changing it. I dont have the time and patience to be fitting it with a "de-twanger" to quieten it down or to keep sighting it in as i find its a bit prone to losing its zero, fast. Perhaps something to do with the way the barrel can move so freely above the air tank? But, having slated it, i have used it for the last 2 years, and according to my "Game Book" have shot nearly 600 rabbits and just under 100 pigeons with it to date. So other than the zero and the horrib
  4. Just been and zero'd the Falcon at 40yrds ready for lamping on monday night... Not bad groupings for this gun i dont think? Thats a pound coin next to it for size comparison... Last time lamping was with 2 air rifles from a vehicle and we shot 38... so hopefully the same again this time... Anyone else got pictures of air gun groupings they are proud of?
  5. I soon want to be applying for my FAC. I have read into it, and think i have a good chance of getting it, i just wanted some experienced knowledge to help me out...and you guys have that! I have only just turned 18, have held a Shotgun ticket for 4 years. I am wanting to apply for a FAC as i do a fair amount of rabbit control on a friends "salad" farm. I know i will get written permission to shoot there, and also, whe the FAO speaks to the land owner, a good reference as he comes out with me most nights i shoot. I am mainly asking what rifle i would be best applying for for the j
  6. Im looking to change my Falcon FN19 Raptor. Im not too sure what to go for next, but i would like something that i can take up to FAC power, reliably, once i have got my ticket. I have read a few internet reviews on rifles you guys say you use, but would like some first hand info from the guys who use them... Im guessing Thoeben is going to be the way to go? Also which moderators are the best way to go? Cheers .Joe
  7. So i thought i had had a bummer of a night, when my lamping session with the air guns on bunnies got cancelled, as we usually have a good 30 - 50 rabbit night.... Still, i sat indoors and had to get out so took my dogs for a walk. Dogs being 1 gun dog trained, slightly over weight Black lab, and an 11 month old jack russell pup. Anyway, after reading in the foxing forum about the mp3 sound files for calling, i downloaded one to my phone and thought i would give it a go whilst walking the dogs. I had seen 3 charlies the night before and mde a mental note that i must see to their demise with t
  8. i think i have read somewhere that there will be a new strain of mixxy released.... and i also think that i have read or been told that if a rabbit can last the first 7 - 14 days than it develops an immunity to the disease which is passed on in breeding... perhaps why there are so many without the disease aswell these days.. But at the same time, i dont do a lot of thinking, and have used the words "i think" twice so i would probably not bother reading this post!
  9. Hi guys..and girls im sure! Only just stumbled upon the forum whilst looking for pigeon shooting in the uk. Finally a forum where i can go on for hours about my passion with others. Anyway, i suppose a bit about me would help. Im Joe, im 18, been brought up in field sports all my life, and cant get enough of them.
