  11. Hey Tom. Just a shot in the dark but how about asking your vet what he thinks you should do with it? All that will happen on this forum is that you will get loads of different advice from loads of different people{all with great intentions} all saying totally conflicting stuff!!!!! Or if your not happy with your vet how about calling another vet? I hope this helps. Kyle Cheers Kyle - Totally agree about all of the different replys, as you say all given with good intention as they have obviously worked for them.. I asked for the ential advice when the stitches were taken out and was treat
  12. Just a quick update - two weeks tomorrow since it was treated as an open wound. Took her back to the vets the day after, as it opened right up. also from all the replys on here i was a little confused as i felt a few replys contradicted each other so I wasnt 100% which route to go down.. The vet gave me some 'Filta Bac' cream - this has been doing the trick and healing up nicely

  15. Easiest one to reply to as im back on lunch break quickly. Was only walking down to get my fish and chips when it happened. Came running out of their drive, I was booting it but she was on the lead and starting spinning so managed to do both sides. Their paying for the vet bills which is at £350.. Been very inconvinent as we went away the following day for a week. so limited leaving her by herself or taking her on nice walks etc.. also had about 10 trips to the vets.. THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLYS - its really appreciated.
  16. My eldest bitch got attacked two weeks ago this friday. I was walking her just to get some dinner and a boarder terrier was off the lead and attacked her. She got ripped either side and one being on her back muscle Which has proven a difficult task to heal, simply from her stretching and having so much tension on the stitches. Just got back from the vets this evening - Again.. The first lot of stitches got removed with no bother, nearly 4 inches but in a nice area to heal well. The stitches on her muscle have already been restitched once (triple layer aswell) They have also been remov

  19. One of my oldest bitches who always used to look keen and as soon as the lure moved she wouldn't chase. I got into racing so used to take her along with the other dogs upto the polo field but she never seemed that bothered and one day just seemed to click. The first year she chased the lure at 5 1/2 years old. She got reserve endurance dog at chatsworth and reserve in the coursing at midlands and a couple more, so abit of a late starter to say the least. Shes 7 1/2 now and still gives the young ones a good run. With regards to quarry definatly wouldnt say shes done lots, but does everything

  22. Glad I never attended Monmouth after reading the reports!!! I used to attend alot of lurcher world shows in 2008 & had some good days/weekends away, last year I didnt get to many due to living away. I did go to Thame this year and won with both of my rough dogs - one being the timed event for the overs, I didn't have a clue how he could beat purpose breed non-peds over 100 yards but I wasn't to complain These are my thoughts of the new schedule; The straight racing which is now a timed event for unders & overs - This seemed to take along time as the dogs ran individual
  23. I was at Kelmarsh aswell sunday - I wouldn't say I take it serious as I never moan if my dogs get knocked out..( not out loud anyway) I've found that results usually balance themselves out - sometimes you havn't got a clue how you got through, then others how the bloddy hell you got knocked out. I think from a spectators point of view or competitors - the number of gates completed is probably the best way to race with regards to arguments or questioning the judges decisions. But others argue to say that isn't always the best coursing dog. I see something with a video camera and dog bei
  24. Cheers Fatdog I enjoy the racing aswell, only done well in the simulated coursing as shes too small to mix it up in the straights unless theres under21". He dosen't throw bigger pups than himself so hopefully offspring should do well in the simulated coursing. He does throw bigger pups than himself my mate took his 21 an half tts beddy greyhound and my mates dog pup [14 month old] has made 24tts my bitch the sister to it is 22tts atb dell Cheers for that Dell! That height will do me - 24 & 22" but hoping no bigger.
  25. Cheers - Bigland boy is 3/4 whippet 1/4 greyound. Hes 22 1/2" and around 40lbs.
