  5. In your opinion socks, what different training methods would you use for a coursing dog and a lamper ? There are lots of differing opinions, some lads i know just run them fit, at start of season and are out quite a bit and just build them up week by week. Another couple of different fellows i know, run them quite young and try and build an inbuilt stamina in them from pups, not everyone agree,s with there methods but works for them. The lads i,m on about are just lampers. Some other folk keep them ticking over all summer by biking or behind motor. freelance do you still go down cornwall and
  6. So i should still use a sub base even for chippings? The soil that is there now has had very little to none movement.. and ive had the property for nearly 2years
  7. Im going to feck the slabs off. And use chippings... Sounds a lot easier hopefully less expensive aswell
  8. what use is the polythene........... and how many is a "few ton".......... Just a guess mate.... but to stop weeds coming through? Or should i be using something different to polythene?

  13. 3inch all over will be plenty when whacked.......... I meant how many tonnes And feck the digger driver... av got a wheelbarrow spade and a trailer and a boy who will work for twenty quid
  14. If i am going to attempt to do the slabs... how much sub base do you reckon... i reckon the area will be 20foot x 4foot... depending on size of slabs i can acquire..
  15. Feck that soundd hard work... ill just turn it over and grow grass
  16. As you can see me garden is like a bombsite.... Finally getting round to tidying it up a bit. I want to put some flags in front of the dog run... it is all soil down there.. My question is.. will i need to dig out the soil and put a bit of sub base down... or can i get away with tipping a load of sand down there... levelling it off and laying the flags right on top? Cheers
  17. Thanks dan. Buy a smaller truck Not quite sure of the $ to £ conversion... but id certainly be well happy paying £4 a gallon.
  18. I mostly try to road mine along side my truck every day or night that I can. I let them run down along the creeks, rivers, and through the timbers too. If they chase something so be it. I like watching them hunt and jack around and I bet we killed a dozen coyotes or better this year just doing this. If I'm just roading them though I will jog them a lil ways to let them empty out and then I will sprint them for a mile, then jog them for bout a mile, spring them for a mile and kinda jog them for another mile or so and then jump em up in the truck and head home. I don't spend a lot of time r
  19. I trot mine behind the motor. I mix it between a bit of road work.. and field work. Just find a nice big field pull in and off i go That just gives them the 'edge' but to get them 'proper' fit then the best way IMO is plenty of work
