  1. I currently use the CCI 20gr, used to use a lot of the Remington ammo (6-700 a week) until I had a nasty experience with them. Ready to take a 25 yard standing shot & my whole field of vision was lit up plus & almighty bang. This was the result of the rim splitting on the case of the round subsequently pushing the head through the barrel & a lot of the explosion back past the bolt face. Will put some pics up of the casing when I find them. Should add, its a CZ (heavy/short barrel)I use - most accurate out of the box.
  2. Fingers crossed that Pickering will be better. I went to Selby on Friday - call me lucky eddie - I managed to get hit by a traders stall as she had forgot to tie it down in the slight breeze that was there :censored: :censored:

    car problem

Have a look underneath & check for holes in the sump or holes in the side of the block. Rover 400 engine are K series if I remember right, notoriously carp. When you say that the water is low - you mean anti freeze, don't you & not just water. When Land Rover sold the Freelander initially it was sold with over 25 known faults on it, most of them being taken up by the K series engine. Get your hands dirty & have a poke about.
  4. I know it's only 3gr of difference but I think it makes a difference, the 20's seem to be flatter & more decisive at the business end if that makes sense. On rabbit you notice the difference especially with head shots, the standard 17gr looks to have more drag into the vortex but the 20gr tends to just kill it with less dragging/obliterating of the target. Hope that makes sense, just awake & brain isn't engaged
  5. Hi Folks, thought I'd post it as a poll, probably easier. So what's your views?

    In Germany

Remember when in Germany & you see a Merc / F - Off huge Audi or BMW in your rear view that seems miles off.................move out the way, they'll be on you in seconds. Last time I was across I thought I was doing ok @ 130mph then an Audi with a front end about the length of my car passed me like I was parked up Pity it doesn't work in UK - I still get corsas & the like pulling out on me

This is how you process & cook a deer at 140mph Take 1 car Then process your deer, BMW style
  13. Powdered coal eh? Now that's interesting, I presume you must have googled that & seen that Hornby actually built the diesel engine in 1891 before Rudolph. Must be a nightmare on a service lapping those valves in! Naturally because you are right I'll have to now go back & retrain as a coal powered mechanic! Regarding the use of varying fuel pumps, it's not a difference between manufacturers - most now use Bosch pumps, some with mechanical boost, some electronic. From what I can remember from the extraction process, diesel is actually produced as a by product before p
  14. Probably be in the snow or p155ing rain again Last time I was there was about 2 year ago, thought it was carp & decided I wasn't going again but................... no CLA last year :wallbash: Should be fun watching all the wannabes in their sparkling 4x4's get stuck on grass (well it did throw it down last time). That said, I have never seen so much walking realtree in my life, I mean - WHY? You're at a bloody gamefair not hunting I feel myself getting wound about about realtree, so I'll finish for now
  15. Hi Folks, this is handle only & quick release buckle for those of you that already have your favourite collars. Handle is made from black leather, double rivetted, good strong & solid. Length of handle (leather part) - 10" Price = £10 **INC**P&P
  16. Hi there, not sure what you mean by the lurcher collar being thinner??? These collars I have made are out of leather - think about the properties of leather - it has an elastic tension to it, similar to human skin. If in the worst case that your ferret got stuck, I think that these collars will have enough give in them to allow it to come off. I have seen the mk1 leather collars & they look like bloomin terrier collars! Ask Julia how they are after she works hers. I must admit it was one of my concerns when making but there is a bit of give in them, that said you have to
  17. Just to correct you, the diesel engine was originally designed to run on peanut oil, unless my 18 years of turning spanners has been wrong
  18. Really struggling to find a pickup, even looked down the Mazda, Ford route but no luck. Seems that everyone keeps hold of them till they fall apart!! :wallbash:
  19. I'm running my 21 year old land rover on %mix & since starting using it, the engine note is quieter & less smoke on start up or heavy load. I have converted it to a 200tdi, used to be a 2.5TD till I blew it up
  20. No problem, doing some leather ferret collars at the moment, will be suitable for mk3. Let me know what you need. Cheers Dave

    lamps

I had to replace the switch on mine last week, got it fitted on Landy roof. Strangely enough, the wire came out of the top of the switch As already stated, go for Clulite, got one gun mounted & it's spot on. I think Deben are having our eyes out with the Lightforce - I enquired about one for the Landy & because it was fitted outside, it was going to cost me £40 more naturally I didn't go for it as strangely enough they are all the same lamps, even if the sales bird said they have greater waterproofing. The greater waterproofing is in fact an extra 'o' ring, probably worth
  24. Thanks for the info folks. So far, I've driven a 02 Navara - very bouncy & rolling, plus to top it off, the Mrs was in the back seats & puked all over it salesman wasn't too impressed! Wasn't too impressed with it, not a great deal of room in front, once you have allyour gear in it would be cramped. Nowhere to stow a rifle either. Biggest upset was - slow as hell, no real grunt. My 200tdi 90 puts it to shame. I've yet to drive a L200 and a Hilux (not surf). Just trying to find the right one that's going to be suitable for shooting etc
  25. I'd be wary of the Cherokee's, normally not looked after due to high service price, plus the cost of spares is unbelievable. As an example, the rubber intercooler hose (which is dealer only) works out at £185+ Just for a rubber hose with 3 odd bends in it - some will say that you could replace it with silicone but due to the odd bends it wouldn't work out. Further to add to this - generally if they are a pain to start it will be No 1 glowplug - no one ever changes them as you have to remove the fuel pump complete very poor design. As for the disco's, cheap, more often than not reliabl
