Cheers mate I but was lucky to get that one as I knew she wasn't happy at that weight. must of admit it has me cringing close to the bloody walls or barbwire fences!
-
Fcukinhell mate.......that's painfully close! :-( I know iknow, I keep bloody watching it lol
-
mate I know what your saying but I could see her struggling after she had had some good hard long flights, not all were at my feet, the wind was proper blowing across the fields, by the time we finished it was a lot worse, after a good rest the last one she flew was over a brow of a hill, thought I saw her land just behind, when I got in view she was no where to be seen, she was found under a hedge a good distance away, surprised me as it was a long flight and battling with the wind but she obviously stuck with it

as promised, just a quick un, youtube quality is crap, my facebook one is better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm8nZ5AVOns&feature=youtu.be

I know what your saying, I gave her a few good rest up in between, the others were keen to keep me flying but with mine being the only female flying them I had to think of my bird and let her rest up, I couldn't of been more proud of her today, just uploading a quick clip as we type, need more time to sort out my clips lol

well where do I start, the land owner wanted to come with us, no problem, but he insisted on chatting to me from the start, so I let my mate lead hoping to get him a slip whilst we chatted, he only managed to kick up a couple of roe deer! two fields walked no hare, third field my mate kicked up hare, quite a distance away, I held back thinking i'll kick one up soon, less than a minute he kicks up another so I let her go, she burned up the field like a rocket, connected with the hares back and held on like a pro rodeo!!, but finally got shaken off!!, next field we walked in, rows of rape leave
-
oh she'll be bang on, just give out strong wind and rain..............we'll see, two hour drive,it'll be a change lol
-
back on ball today, first couple of flights looked like she was playing with the rabbits, third flight she meant business but it made it to safety, fourth flight she nailed no problem in a matter of feet, fed her up there on a good note, ready for tomorrow's big day
-
not very good for me today, didn't keep an eye on how much I was giving her yesterday, and she was totally over her weight today, gave her a small feed and a good soak down, see what tomorrow brings
-
you would defo need an axis gimble on a helmet for that game pmsl
-
I do recalls in to the wind across a good length field, that also gets them pumping, today was a bloody wet one here but still got out and had four goes at rabbit, two weren't very sporting but two were good enough, but the bird was getting wetter every time, my mate wanted to try for a 5th but I didn't want to dishearten the bird anymore than she already was, hope this weather clears up for the weekend
-
felt like it last Saturday running the full field when she got that rabbit, all the gear and ferret box, my mate said it looks like you only got one arm, I was holding the ferret box steady with the other!!!
-
the one I've ordered if its a fake they'll know about it alright, bad press isn't good for anyone's business lol
-
it does show at the beginning when the bird isn't as fit as when she's going good in the season, (I bit like me too lol)
-
lol, you have to do what you have to do to get the best out of your bird, today aint great so im going up fields to do some good distance recall work, everyone has their methods, even hear of folk doing their bird 100 time's up and down their stairs(even train them this way), not for me, I prefer my bird to have the natural feel of cross winds etc, ive heard some horror stories when done on the stairs like the bird smashing them in the face etc (frustration) lol
-
today has been tipping it down most of the day, the fact she hasn't had a rest day for a good week I just fed her on the fist today, she was up from yesterday so it'll do her no harm to have a day off here's me saying about how the weather has changed for the better, spoke too soon I think......

getting out is what its all about, a kill is only a bonus

thanks I hope so toowell today we walked around most ponds but nothing on them, went to a spot that holds the odd hare, and yep one gets up, birds powers up field after it, connects and has a ride on its back, a bit of a tussle and the hare breaks free(damn) still I was buzzing that she is still 100% committed on them I was told by a regular Hare hawker that a decent female Harris has more success than a Goshawk because of the difference in footing. Harris hawks tending to keep hold of their first grip & the Gos tending to try & change grip, thus letting go so many. Having seen

thanks for the heads up, Ive been looking at how you can tell if they are fakes or not, so just waiting on the postman now lol
-
I had a cock pheasant with her last year, she's flown one or two this year, not tried her on duck yet as nothing has been on our ponds, I fly mainly rabbit as feather isn't something we have a lot of around here, my male has had a few good seasons on duck, pheasants and the odd crow

November always seems the wettest month for some reason, I preferred it today as it was nice, calm and fresh
