Nice shooting, but don't post any more pictures of that butchered AA200, it's too upsetting. Sweet little bunny rabbits with their brains blown out if fine tho'. LOL

I would have the suspicion, as probably you do, that swapping out a .22 barrel for a .177 will result in some loss of power. Quite what that reduction would be , I don't know. Moreover, a Weihrauch barrel on it's own won't come cheap. I just gotta question the wisdom of performing any modifications (apart from the possibility the forum moderators might treat any info as power tuning advice, which is verboten) which might not be reversible. Furthermore your resale value may be adversely affected I'd say don't do it but buy a second hand one in .177. More expensive option, but then you've

Depends what you're going to shoot with it. If you're planning to shoot field target competition with it then it's not overkill if you look around you can pick up the scope new for about £100 so on the scale of things it's not big money. Looks quite a long sope so you might want to check it's ok for your gun & doesnt overhang the breach if you put a sunshade on it etc. The extra magnification can provide you with flexibility if you're not sure what you might want to shoot in the future. On the other hand if you're just out for a bit of vermin control, you could spend £50 on a "good

matterbooboo...??is that real davy........................or did your arse brush the keyboard when you got up for the bog?????? lol no really its a rare matterbooboo very good davy...............i think ive just worked it out!!!! but i'll let some one else take the plunge!! FFS someone's got to feed him the line, though you can see the punchline comeing over the hill like a waggon train. What's a matterbooboo?

Have a look at the J S Ramsbottom website You should be able to pick up a 3x9x40 with illuminated mildot reticle & adjustable objective lens for 50 quid A set of Accushot mounts will be about another 12 quid on top. For general purpose hunting that's all you need. Paying more for higher magnifications than a 3 to 9x zoom is likely to be overkill & a waste of money. Even with a zoom you tend to find yourself sticking around 6x magnification as anything higher just amplifies how shakey your hands are. Yes there are better optics around but you wouldn't put a set of 800 quid Leupold

Start with the basics 1) clean the barrel 2)check the stock screws are tight 3)Check scope mounts are screwed on tight (scope-creep could be your problem) 4)check the scopes are not moving within the mounts 5)Use the same brand of pellet ALL the time (whichever brand has given best grouping in the past), different weights, head-types & manufacturers pellets may give a different point of aim 6)Frustration can make you a twitchy bast--d. Use a bean bag & a rest & make sure you use the same hold every time, Don't exert yourself, breath slow & relax because shooting is enjoya

Don't know how you can even consider getting rid of it, especially after spending a pile of dosh on a full custom job You need your bumps feeling mate!

Just wondering if the ratcatcher is classed as a pistol (with a skeleton stock added) or is it a rifle? Just if it's putting out over 6ftlb & is classed as a pistol, then it's not legal. Anyone got any thoughts? Any road up, the one you've been offered hardly sounds like a loved & cherrished example.

For shimming material, you can't beet cutting a small rectangle of plastic off an old washing up liquid bottle to sit inside the bottom of the scope ring. Try this site & click on the scope shim guide link at http://www.charliedatuna.com/AirgunInfo.htm Lots of other useful info too

A gas ram is a pneumatic strut, not unlike the 2 telescoping arms on either side of the rear hatch of a motor car. Obviously, the power output is a bit different to the struts found in the back of a Ford Fiesta. It can be a replacement power unit for a springer or standard kit in some of the Theobens & HW90.
-
Cheshire, be warned, you are probably about to get linched for suggestiong a fill with something other than dry air! It may well be dangerous, invalidate any warranty & / or take the power output above legal levels. All in all, it's viewed as a really bad idea.

Feck! Ow do you find it after you've put it down?

Then you're luckier than me! All my neighbours are feckin loonies Mrs XXXX has kept a bottle top with a pellet hole in that accidentally flew over the fence into her garden as "evidence" Evidence of what?...That I've got & use air rifles...not exactly a secret Pellet never left the property, just the bottle top Strange woman So I exercise a little care & try & time my practice sessions / activities to when she's out....which is easy to tell because her dog howls like an air raid siren the second she leaves the house. LOL Poor mutt
-
Be aware that your neighbours might not be keen on the idea so have a little care. Last summer we had a rat visiting the garden in the late evenings. So when the neighbour had locked up for the night & her little darlings were all tucked up safely in bed I bagged the little sh-t at the bottom of the garden. Out comes Mrs XXXXX (unlocking he door as she comes) & suggests I'm endangering her precious little brats & that I might carlessly have shot one of them who could have been anywhere in the garden & I might not have known they were there. I politely suggest 1) Her brats

Measure the grooves centre to centre & I'll bet you find it's 11mm, which is the most popular size for the dovetails. The one piece Accushot mounts at J Ramsbott will fit the bill

You'll find you get no responses to this type of enquiry. Info on tuning airguns, potentially in excess of legal limits is a banned subject & rightly so for the good of the forum, the good of the sport & upholding the law in general. You may even find your post removed by the moderators in due course.

There is still the 95 & 95k & 95K (silencer) Older K had a muzzle weight & longer barrel than More recent K, More recent K has barrel length shortened by 4 inches & silencer added. All 3 variants are still available i.e 95 standard 95K muzzle weight 95K shortened with silencer Have a look at the pretty pictures on the BAR website http://www.airgunbuyer.com/Showproducts.as...%20Air%20Rifles Let's say you're both right about the 95

Paid £14 quid for my Meteor Mk4 brand new! Mind you, it was 1974 & that was the equivalent of about half a weeks wage for the average bloke back then. .......... and I've still got it........... and it still works just fine.

I'm not a fan of the square spring no matter who made it. If you're not going with the manufacturers own or the V-Match, my preference if the Titan XS spring. A proper round spring, made from Swedish Chrome Vanadium Steel with a PTFE coating & < £20 delivered. Got the Titan in 2 of mine...... the absolute dog's danglies of the aftermarket spring world.

What cleaning agent do you use to get marmite fingerprints off the optics? LOL
-
I echo Bunny bouncers point Feed it some AA Fields or Accupels or maybe RWS Superdomes. I favor the AA's as the heavier of those mentioned. Plenty of proper domed head, lead pellets to chose from, it's what the gun was built to use & will give you the best results

To clarify, I'm suggesting replacement parts to restore the ware & tear items on an older gun as a means to cure an operational problem & restore it' proper function. This is maintenance, not tuning & the posted link does not deal with tuning issues either. Indeed, for the most part the link is looking at the adjustment of the trigger. New spring, seals & a lube job or if you want to go the extra mile the V-Match kit. In either case consult a gunsmith if you're not happy as to your competency or the lack of a spring compressor. Either way your HW can be brought back on-song

http://www.fortunecity.com/olympia/kickbox..._b20_album.html This link will refer you to a stripdown for a B20 which is just about the same internally as your HW. If memory serves, this stripdown negelects to mention the removal of the block just ahead of the trigger, which has to come off to get the spring out. Sounds like you need a new spring & a relube. You will need a spring compressor to get a new spring in, so if you haven't got one or don't feel competent, take it to a gunsmith. Usual caveats about don't blame me if you lose a finger apply! You could go for a V-match kit but t

Good greif! Does he leave the dog & white stick at home when he's out with the gun?

Then BBB, your experiences are not the same as mine. With the exception of the mainspring, the fit, finish & qualiy of components are all very acceptable. Add a decent mainspring & you have a budget springer that's shooting hard & straight. Not everyone can or wants to spend hundreds on a Weihrauch or top end scopes. This is a sport pursued on many levels with budgets to match I'm not for one minute suggesting you end up with a copy that is as good as the original on which it is based. But, as per my original post, you can, for not too much more money, upgrade the odd interna
