  1. Good old fishfish. Look at what he's made me: The handle is walnut, it has brass rivets, and the sheath is handmade out of leather. What a star. Thanks mate.
  2. I have a large quantity of Fenn Mole traps for sale here. Discounts available for THL members.
  3. Prices? Location? Somebody hasn't been reading the new rules....
  4. If you are going to cage trap rats, these are the traps to use. I had eight in one catch last week.
  5. I found out about it Here. I'm not sure if its worth it though, the money aint great. As far as I know, they still buy magpie wings etc.
  6. Available Here Victor Professional Rat Traps, as modified by 'Snareman', available singly or in multiples. For P&P on multiple trap orders, PM me.
  7. I think that what surprises (and annoys) me the most is the fact that this is a very busy service station. I do not understand why the authorities are allowing this situation to go on. I wonder if they would have taken enforcement action if it had been a small trader? There was no sign of any bait stations nearby, and the shrubbery had not been cut back to allow access to burrow bait. Whoever the pest control contractor is should be ashamed. I helped a client recently who was fighting a request from the EHO for a voluntary closure. The EHO had been onto site, and found a (one) mous

    RIVERS OF BLOOD

There were some very interesting statements in the documentary, including: The lady who said "If they want immigrants to integrate, why are they letting them set up their own communities?" Britain is becoming a 'community of communities' When asked if he was a 'racialist' [sic], EP replied "It depends how you define a racialist...... If you define a racialist as someone who despises another many because of his creed or colour, then I would reply, definately not". I got the impression that for Powell, it was not about colour or religion, it was about not allowing people to
  9. A couple of months ago, I had a meeting at a motorway service station. After the meeting, I was sat in the car in the car park, listening to my phone messages, when I looked around and saw this: I sat there for 20 minutes, watching a family of rats pop in and out of a litter bin, just two feet away from me. All the time this was going on, people where carrying on walking past! Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
  10. I've just noticed that the google toolbar includes a spellchecker! I thought I would mention it, as I know I'm not the only person on here who has trouble spelling.......... I think you can download the toolbar, but I'm not sure where from. Perhaps one of the geeks could explain how to get it

From Wickapedia: I think one of the most striking things about the documentry was the fact that EP sacrificed his career because he felt that the opinions of his constituents where more important. It wouldn't happen these days as our 'professional' polititians would have a throng of advisors who would stop him. If he hadn't made that speech, he could have been the Thatcher of the eighties, and we might all be buying british products, using british currency (pounds, shillings and pennies). Some of the quotes are wrongly attributed to EP. 'In fifteen, or twenty years, the b
  12. As one of the farm boys described her: "A killing machine" lol
  13. The total for the day was 86. Towards the end of the day the dog was getting tired, and started to carry around the dead rats. I had to take them off her because she was not paying enough attention to the ones which were running about! The last shed we did netted just under 200 in 2 hours. I had to stop early because the dog had a nasty cut on her leg, and I didn't want it getting infected. Its a good way of reducing the numbers while the birds are out, then I can crack on with baiting. The birds go out at 75 weeks, so it'll be another year before I get another crack at that par
  14. If you can find a plummer who still joins lead pipes, they will give good money for mole skins. They use them to clean the joints. Veniards sell them on for fly tying.
  15. £1 each from Veniards. Go direct.
  16. Ditch If you intend doing a bit of road work, a bike with either 2WD or 4WD is better on the tyres and fuel. I think (?) the newer Honda's have a selector. My experiences with the Honda big red 350 are good. Its a go anywhere machine that is totally reliable. The first quad I ever drove was a suzuki with a 2WD selector and a 250cc engine. It was a cracker for lamping, but lacked the low down guts of the honda.
  17. OK, my plan is to get some brown Speed Dip, and some wax, and I'll post some pics of the process and the results. I may also do some in Oak Bark, just to show the difference.............. Now I've just got to find a supplier...........................................
  18. The best way to remove scent is to boil your traps. It is more likely that the mole found an obstruction of some sort in the run, either a stone, or part of the trap. When you set yer traps, make sure they line up with the run properly; the first thing Mr Mole should feel is the trigger. The other common mistake is to push soil and stones up or down the tunnel when you open it up to set yer trap.
  19. The best thing you could do is get hold of a copy of 'Body Gripper Basics' by our very own, Chalkwarren. Also guest starring none other than, 'Snareman'. Its a great video, which explains how to use the BMI magnums properly. These traps are not for novices.
  20. Nowt came up Matt.........! Sorry mate! Try again. It should work now........

  22. Ye read my mind ditch... I was thinking about speeding up me ole Imbras. Somehow, I thought you would be a 'dyer' Rolfey. WD40? Only a wally would use that on traps Right lads, next question: Would you dye and wax? Or does the dye have enough of the same effect as wax to make it unnecessary? Anyone for SpeedDip?
  23. Was that an 'all over' waxing, or just a 'brazilian' on the spring Chris? I'm led to believe that it speeds up the action of the trap, and presumably therefore, makes it a better, more humane kill. It also protects the trap from corrosion. Interestingly, I was reading a US site, where the guy says that it makes conibears unsafe because they become too fast! He reckons its no good for water sets because they set 'emselves off!!! Do you wax yours ditch? I'm interested to know if the 'real deals' on here bother, cue GW, Chalky, etc........... Waxing Fenns and suchlike im
