  1. is it hard to find good english bulls? i've heard that the nose on some of them can make it difficult for them to breathe.
  2. I’ve seen a lot of hog hunting videos and they all seem to favour either the jagd terrier, pitbull terrier or english bull terrier. does the Jagd have any sort of advantage over say a patterdale or something of that type?
  3. I think I've always liked yorkies because of how good they are with allergies, so one of the few dogs i knew we could potentially have in my family.
  4. don't have to be anything special tbf, sometimes its just nice to see a dog different from usual
  5. I like how they look and it’s probably better for the dogs not to be tiny wee cup sized things
  6. Anyone ever heard of this cross being used ? Purely out of curiosity because I know someone whos adopted one from Spain and at eight months it already looks to be one of the quickest dogs I’ve seen.
  7. would love to have ones like that common again
  8. I was out a walk today and came across a guy with a yorkshire terrier about the size of a parson russel. It made me think but it was probably the first time I'd ever seen one that size in person. Why do people make toy sized ones much more often? Is there a benefit to them being smaller for any sort of work? tried to find one for sale ages ago but only the dinky looking toy sized ones available.
  9. proper looking lakelands, especially the black one
  10. Pics of my 5 month Lakeland lassie ?
  11. She’s certainly got the drive already, tries digging up the holes and getting in there every time she’s off lead
  12. That’s good to know, my mum for example is okay as long as she doesn’t touch the dog but I know some people can be bad just from them in the air
  13. I’ve always loved greyhounds, whippets Salukis etc and considered getting a whippet before we settled on the Lakeland. I would love to have one of these dogs one day but unfortunately everyone in my family other myself is allergic to dogs. this was our main reason for the Lakeland, but unfortunately the only allergy free of this type is an Italian greyhound. lovely dogs but useless as a running dog, does anyone else have allergies or family with allergies that knows a way round this?
  14. Thank you guys, I thought from reading on here it would come down to whether the dog had it in them or not, hopefully she does cause the council will be no help
  15. Cheers bud, been reading the site for ages and only now got round to making an account
  16. Don’t actually hunt anything as of yet but want to have my terrier deal with the rats we have nearby. would love to take her properly ratting one day as it’s the best thing for the dog’s health and happiness. mostly here to learn and get advice but also to look at everyone’s dogs
  17. I’ve got a four month Lakeland lassie and we stay in council flats in Rutherglen. Recently there’s been a lot of rats seen nearby and she’s chased after a good few of them. is she too young to be allowed to hunt them? If not, how do I go about using her to kill them? always respect the working heritage of these dogs and I’ve known her mum to be a good rat catching dog.
