  1. i think he is, we've talked about it a little in comments before
  2. its a fair question and I've asked lots to try and figure it out myself but some people say the allergy is in the drool and its when a dog licks themsleves that causes it, others say its in the shedding, some say its from the dander
  3. no sense to me either, as far as i know italian greyhounds dont shed and neither do lakelands but i also think its a matter of whether the fur is more hairlike than fur like.
  4. are the lurchers as 'busy' in the house as a terrier? woman i know that breeds racing greyhounds say they take up pretty much no space cause they sleep all day
  5. i'm not sure, i've never seen a terrier crossed with a whippet in person but i thought they would feel like a big terrier
  6. i agree that i probably shouldn't own one. i wouldn't say I had made my mind up but I was hoping there would be a way that i could toughen up one of these dogs and give me a chance at the pocket sized kind of lurcher that would suit my needs, unfortunately it looks like it'll have to wait. I definitely have been jumping the gun a little on these things but i'll have to be patient and wait until I can have the sort of lifestyle/area that would suit a proper running dog like that as for my mates dog, it looks a fragile wee thing so i might have to give it some time before i can try tha
  7. you seem a bit upset here pal. I was asking because I've never used a dog to hunt rabbits in my life and the allergies aren't mine, its people in my family. The most work the terrier will ever be asked to do from me is rats, i have no need for any type of earth work with her, i live in a council flat and just need a dog that can help out with the constant rat problem.
  8. i agree, it is a shame because they are so good with allergies but as most people have said it looks like a waste of time
  9. nah i'm only kidding, have a friend with one though.. might get us some first hand information on letting it have a go at some rabbits
  10. this is a good start to me getting one and it breaking its leg on its first walk
  11. Not a clue I’m not very informed on it, just that they’ve been recommended a lot for being really good with allergies, think maybe they don’t shed or something like that
  12. Seems it’ll be beddy whippet for me A shame but I suppose that’s life
  13. I’ve seen a good few of them, only worry was how much space they’d take up as I know terriers can feel like they’re everywhere all the time in a house
  14. I’m n9t allergic at all but majority of my family are, Lakeland has been the perfect dog for us allergy wise and I’ve heard poodles are just as good, only issue would be trying to find a decent mix
  15. thats a shame, will have to find some other way to get myself a running dog
  16. do you think there would be any hope mixing one with a decent terrier?
  17. was only for allergies, will have to find some other way
  18. ive heard that too, that a tolerance can build from living with an animal from when its very young but never wanted to risk testing it
  19. might become a one man mission to breed some sort of half usable line of italian greyhounds
  20. ijust know that beddys are and usually a hypoallergenic coat will take over when crossed with something else, same as the lakey and poodle crosses but haven't actually met one to test the theory
  21. purebreed italian greyhound? only reason I'm so interested is because i want a lurcher type pup and its either that or a bedlingotn whippet to go along with families allergies
  22. definitely would be better off with the cash in that case
