  1. Cheers mate I’ve gone for 9.5 steel with .72 gzk bands, should be here in a few days. I’ve made myself a target box so I can collect all the balls a bit easier, it’s great fun and passes the time quickly but my shooting is so bad ?
  2. I’m a bit confused about bands, I was watching a YouTube video and he was suggesting .66 - .72 thickness for 9.5 steel, does this sound about right? Does anyone have a link to some cheap ones for ott because I don’t have a clue what I’m buying lol thanks
  3. Been a fun day, I’ve been mainly shooting the card board box but put the 80mm target up and hit it a few times but only from like 5m away lol. i thought the 50 8mm ball bearings were gonna last ages because I set up the sheet to stop them, somehow I’ve lost loads and got about 15 left ?? I’m gonna get some more ordered in a bit but wondering if I should get bigger balls and thicker bands? At the moment I’m using .55 yellow ott bands with 8mm ball bearings. I’ve got 3 sets of the .55 bands but not sure how long they will last lol. any advice on what to do next would be great ?
  4. Any tips on stopping the dog going nuts when firing the catapult, I think it’s the sound of the elastic firing her up ?
  5. I’ve hung a sheet up at the top of the garden to stop the balls from ricocheting if I miss and put a 20cm x 20cm cardboard box up in front of it as a target. From 15m away it’s going right through the box lol. i think it’s gonna be a while before I’m hitting the 80mm target ?
  6. He made that look easy ? cheers I’m going to tie it up now ?
  7. It’s just arrived, it’s smaller than I thought it would be but can’t wait to give it a go, just gotta tie the bands on lol
  8. Nice one mate thanks for the advice, I’m heading out in the next hour to see what I can find. Should be fun lol. I’ve just had the email through they’ve dispatched my catapult, should be here by the 1st of may, hopefully that’s an exaggeration and will really be here by Friday ??

    Mincer

What are you mincing?? If you have anything bigger than chicken bones in your mix then you will have to start looking at a bigger mincer, something like a hobart commercial mincer.
  10. Cheers mate I won’t bother wasting my time then. When I walk the dog this evening I will keep and eye out for some forks ?
  11. Yeah will do, can’t go wrong the price of it. I wanted to add these to the basket because tying these bands on looks an absolute nightmare ? sadly they are out of stock but will be ordering when they are back in! I managed to salvage some iroko boards last year, about 1 1/2” x 5” and got meters of it. I’m wondering if I could make a fork out of this stuff. Not really worried about putting it to use, but more about killing time lol.
  12. I was having a look at that one mate and it’s shipped from China, with all that’s happening at the minute I wasn’t sure how long it would take to be delivered so I ended up going with a wasp uniphoxx starter kit, clear ice colour. Now I’ve got to wait for it to be delivered ?
  13. Thanks do you have a link to the listing on eBay? I’m gonna have a look at the other thread now. Sorry if my posts ain’t showing up right away, I’m not being ignorant it’s just I’m a new member and my posts need approving first lol
  14. This is my staffy daisy, she’s mad as ever but very loyal, big softy really lol. We will chase the fluff on a flirt pole until you’ve had enough ?
  15. Thanks, yeah I will have to practice in the yard until I get good at hitting targets, then if I am good enough at hitting targets from far away I will try hunting with it. I’ve got a nice long back garden so perfect place to practice. Will the fork of the wasp uniphoxx be okay to use thicker bands on in the future or would I have to get a different one again? I’m just thinking about getting this set because it comes with everything including spare bands and a target lol Thanks, I will have a look at these now.
  16. Hi, nice forum you have here. My name is Jason and I'm from Devon, I haven't done any hunting in years but when I was a kid my dad would take me out catching rabbits with my ferret and nets and also a bit of shooting with a .22 air rifle. I love my fishing, I mainly fish for carp but I do enjoy sea fishing when the weather is right ? fishing has taken a back seat over the last 2 years, I still go when I can but I spend most of the time training and keeping my dog fit and healthy. I've got a 2 year old staffordshire bull terrier called daisy. Completely bonkers and full of energy all the t
  17. Hi, I've been watching a few youtube videos of people hunting with catapults and would love to give it a go..but I don't know which catapult I should buy. I see that on the wasp slingshot website they do a starter kit for £24.00. https://www.waspslingshots.co.uk/product-page/new-deluxe-uniphoxx-starter-kit The Kit contains the following : 1 x Uniphoxx Slingshot Frame 3 x Precise .55 OTT Band sets - with tie on strips 50 x 8mm steel ammo 1 x Wasp 80mm Spinning Target. Is this a good deal or is there something cheaper I should try? I don't really want
