my two jill ferrets have been in season since paddy's day (march 17th) so i borrowed my friends hob for the week. I let him have a go with one jill at a time and gave him a day's rest between each one. They seemed to do the business but i thought after they bred the swelling of there vulva is supposed to go down(correct me if i'm wrong) but if anything the swelling has peaked. is this normal or is there something i'm missing? thanks richard

Hi all, on tuesday i was cleaning out my ferrets hutch.. I put them in a little pen on the lawn. I thought all my dogs were fine with ferrets as they had grown up with them all there life. Halfway through cleaning out the hutch i heard squealing i ran out to the lawn and i saw my spaniel had my hob ferret by the neck. Within five minutes he was dead.. I am gutted.. My jill had used all her "scent" and she seemed to be very shaken up but apart from that she seemed to be unharmed.I put her back into her hutch... She went straight into her sleeping area and i let her sleep for the rest of the da
Hi all, On an average day when I go out I Might catch 3 or 4 rabbits. This is not alot I know but my hob always kills and lies up under ground. This slows down the day alot and I am sure I could catch more if only the rabbits bolted. I feed my ferrets well before I bring them out so i was wondering does anyone have any tips or is there nothing I can do??
thanks, Richard
Hi all, I've recently bought a 50 yard longnet and I'm getting on reasonably well with it but I have one problem... When i take it up after a days work I put it in my bag, then the next day I go out it always manages to get into tangles so every time I set the net up to 15 minutes could be wasted just trying to get the tangles out!.... Any ideas? Help would greatly be appreciated!
Thanks Richard
I was out yesterday with gale force winds... not one bolted!! All kills under the ground..My ferrets are usually good for making them bolt. couldn't figure out why there were no bolters until i read this!!
