  1. That bear running through the corn fields Dan would have most men shitting in their pants, but f**k me you wouldnt forget that in a hurry, now sign me up haha, the range of game you lot have over there means you can hunt most of the year. The wolverine sounds like a formidable animal tough as old boots as they say and your pal was right about the otter I accidentally came across one with my black dog in february and hes only just healed up. Its the pig hunting that I would target mostly if I had the opportunity them wild boars can handle themselves. I think your Duce would do the job.
  2. Will look at the other thread Dan cheers, I watched a vid a long time ago when a few lurcher types treed a mountain lion it jumped down and managed to escape it disembowled three dogs in seconds, not something to be messed around with, plus I think its a no win situation for a dog.
  3. I see where your coming from DC, sometimes I think lads are more interested in having chewed up dog, personally I would prefer a dog that mixed it more than locked on, I have a two different types here one goes in and locks on and gets the job done asap, 6 digs in 6 months, the other mixes it hardly gets a bite worked every weekend, once or twice took a bit longer but never failed. I dont mind the taking a bit longer part because sometimes the game doesnt want to be dug but he stuck to the job, which is the main thing.
  4. Dan your just teasing us now arent you, its a few months till the season starts and Im getting restless already. I take it you mean mountain lions when you say cats, aswell as coyotes and hare, your defo in for some action then!!!
  5. Retire the old girl DC theres no rush, the quarry aint going anywhere pal. You know yourself anything can happen at anytime.
  6. No probs Dan Im the same Ive had a lurcher hunting with me or my terriers all my life, I only have a couple of pics of them and loads of my terriers. Is it popular running them on coyotes would they tackle bigger game if given the chance.
  7. Thats a good age for a worker DC, even if she is sensible, have you anything off her working. I bred a bitch that was about 10yr old and she had one small pup that I gave away. Hope she comes in season soon.
  8. Nice one Dan, exactly what I imagined, it gives a new definition to an allrounder, hes a big fine dog any of him in action!!!
  9. Read a small bit on them but would like to hear any first hand accounts....
  10. Any Americans had much experience with them, they are a big lump of an animal.
  11. Nice bitch DC how old is she, is she still getting out.
  12. Superior in one mans eye might only be average in another and vice versa.
  13. If I was going into battle Stonewall I would take that dog with me.
  14. Mostly wheaton x greyhound Katchum a touch of bull too, the best all rounder Ive had F/H/R/D he would mark a terrier or game below ground aswell even had too dig him out twice after going to ground!!!
  15. I have Ches Ive an 11mth old bitch down off that stuff ready for this season its holding them back thats the hard part, theres a few lads with stuff down from them dogs so I have options if need be.
  16. He is just out of my own stuff with a drop of...........bull, dare I say it!!!!!
  17. Is there a reason why you start this early, my thinking is that its too warm for us to dig, too warm to work the dogs, too many flies, too much cover, cubs are too small, but then it could be different where you are.
  18. Adding bull blood into a working terrier will not improve its working ability, (working ability) not to be confused with headstrong brawlers, I think the reason some people add bull blood is because they have a lack of good hard working bitches. Just because they look the part means F-all , Breed to the right stuff and youll forget all about bull blood.
