F.D, you're very impatient tonight and I will only disappoint you because I will never remember names,it was just a favour to him at the time due to the number of terriers he had on at the time,we would take 2 x 6-9 month old pups and sometimes older to get going,after a few digs we would return them and he would move them on,we would then be given 2 more, a lot went to America as he judged a bit out there and around Europe,one thing to note though is we never had a jibber or quitter,all were of the right size but stuck like glue. Bill,I have spoken many times to all the mentioned and if Hagen wishes to believe them its no skin off my nose but I will not have some beginner thinking he knows it all without ever doing anything other than talk about it,he reminds me of Hornblower,he told me every outcome I was to breed and was nowhere near the mark,theory is theory but you have to suck it and see sometimes, I have pages of the faults in these terriers and was prepared to help until met by indifference,my offer at the time was genuine,I even told them there were 3 empty Kennels for breeding and running on but hey ho apparen

HGN, I don't need advice on breeding or terrier work from a novice thats only been in the game 5 mins,who I sell my pups to and where is my concern,also the manner in which I advertise them is to ensure they are being spread around the country. There have been many that have come and gone in the Plummer world like you and I'm sure there will be more. You come across as educated and knowledgeable about the breed but it appears your also very gullible around all things Plummer,you need quality clean working stock if you are to get the Irish PTA off the ground and stop taking other peoples reject

I seen a stud dog used from Blackburn that was half yorkie/lakeland, seen the resulting litter,only 1 person he had to please back then and it was himself,there seems to be too much hero worshipping going on these days around DBP from the resulting clubs after his demise,for f*cks sake there even lads calling anything related to him Plummer lurchers, DBP took the truth to the grave,he always maintained his best all round terrier was Pagan and we all know how she was bred,WM

Selective breeding to a colour is not hard,the hardest part of breeding any terrier is having a small,spannable terrier that has good head size,that is the "holy grail" WM

Then it seems from your reply there are many 2 headed liar's at the P.T.C.G.B. my offer was made genuinely to help what I thought were half decent lads,in all my dealings with all the clubs I have only met a small handful that are as good as their word and that is why I would never repeat this offer, I have bred every type of terrier with good results so its the breeds loss not mine. No mate what's required is a group of honest lads with only the working abilities of the breed at heart, work them hard cull hard and in years to come they might be getting somewhere I put that exact reply to Scott Robson,HGN ,Mash and Gareth 2 yrs ago when they took over from Tim at the P.T,C.G.B. Some workers have been rehomed on the basis of back breeding - yes their pedigree - I had a cracking bitch sent here because she didnt fit into breeding plans - she was great mooching, bushing and had to be held back from entering as she was unproven and its not my sport now - dogs are often sold on from pet homes unvetted - I have even seen five year old dogs advertised for 350 and another 10 yr old bitch - yes TEN YEAR OLD for 350 to a 'good' home only - the breed is so inbred now that anything without a pedigree is not only worthless but a potential life long vet bill - worker to worker stu

You should make allowances for lads that know nothing of the history of Plummer terriers, Bill (stormy boy) worked and gave away probably the biggest influence of modern working plummers,he did so as he was contracted to work away, this line was a fox line,bred for work and "derek Palmer" had it placed in his lap to do as he pleased, WM
