  1. I know my terrier is from proven stock! Maybe wrong choice of pup that was kept or as said before how she was treated and brought on etc. Her brother is very well proven. She was good with another dog at that side of her but didn't want to know on her own. The offers there if anyone wants it.
  2. She's from working stock though that's why I put on here, 8 generations. I think the guy just made 2 bad choices. Bringing her on too early, too big too quick. Oh 3 bad choices! Giving her a few beatings. She's a loyal pet, that doesn't mean she doesn't want to work because she does. She's had a good few rats whilst with me. I won't put her to anything other because that's what previous owner did and that's what made her the way she was. She's intelligent, fast learner, likes to have a good sniff around, etc. Working dogs aren't born they are made and will only work to their abilities or how
  3. My Patterdale is due in season in November and I would like a litter from her, I did have a jack that I bought purposely for the job but due to relationship breakdown I no longer have him, my Patterdale is from working stock but was spoilt by previous owner treating her bad and starting her too early n too big too soon, she's a amazing pet but shy at first. I'm based near Leeds so someone as close as possible. I need to find someone ASAP so my bitch can get to know other dog and the person who owns it. Please p.m me and we can talk more, obviously there's going to be differing opinions on whic
  4. That's disgusting! Something really needs to be done about these people. Supposes to care for animals?!?! My ass. Hope you get justice pal. Atb Lee
  5. Forgive me if this is in the wrong section but due to relationship breakdown I'm having to put getting a running dog on hold. So I'm looking for someone that wouldn't mind bringing a dog along to help. Ive got 4 ferrets which I only work in pairs and so far have had good results. I've got a few nets maybe not enough for the place so if you have some and want to bring them then even better. Pm me and we can talk further thankyou.
  6. The older pair are about 5 months the other pair about 4 months. I have already had the older pair following a friends worker hob through a small warren and they were poping up at different holes so they are moving around under there. Guess I wont be able to judge them as 'workers' until they go down on their own. Im hoping they all make good workers but we shall see. Im on a learning curve myself. Same here buddy got 4 myself had them out in pairs so far, Jill and a hob in each time only been 3 times now and only had one session with nothing bolting, both other times have had something
  7. So I am after a running dog will consider any dog but must be ok with other dogs and if not a pup be broken to ferrets preferably but will consider not broken to ferrets. I will give regular updates of how dog is doing etc and can guarantee it will be very well exercised and looked after. I would prefer something on the smaller side around whippet size would be ideal but will consider bigger. Let me know via pm I can collect within 50 or so miles maybe further for the right dog. Just let me know what's around am willing to pay you or donate to charity an agreed fee just let me know. Thanks in
  8. Nice to know I'm not the only one haha. Does anyone know of any people local ish to me on here?
  9. I'd be gutted if I lost any of my ferrets :-( only had 2 out at a time so far this year and only been twice but had 3 bolt on one occasion and one the other time. Ferrets still young so there's plenty of time yet. Concentrating more on living conditions for next couple of weeks then hard at work they go Sorry for your loss pal hope you find one as good as he was atb
  10. Just a quick question which may have been answered before but I haven't found it so thought I'd ask. I have a shed in which I keep my ferrets the shed itself is 4'x10' and 8' high. I have 2 jills and 2 hobs all around the same age which are doing well in my opinion. They all play well together. Can be handled with ease and are left open for around 2 hours each day when the sun moves round and doesn't shine in their shed. (I read somewhere too much sun can kill ferrets) whether that true or not I would rather be safe! So my question is how many can you keep safely in what space? I am in the p
  11. 2 good dogs working well together there :-) good viewing.
  12. Evening all just registered, been reading on the forum for a bit and thought it a bit ignorant not to register. I'm from Batley area West Yorkshire. Hoping I can find one or two people to go out with? I have ferrets, rifle, although I wouldn't use the one I got to hunt with! I also got 2 terriers. Patterdale that's ok for rats not much else and a jack Russell that needs bringing on. Not bothered about early mornings or late nights. Need to be out at them times really IMO. I don't drive but don't mind splitting the fuel costs or buying breakfast/tea. Just be glad to be getting out and doing a b
