PURE SALUKI

Twenty odd years ago i purchased a first cross saluki/greyhound out of a dog called luke owned by ginger french after seeing a lot of first crosses over the years i some times wonderd if he was a pure saluki .The best of these crosses i have seen is [bANNED TEXT] the dam is the pure saluki imo could any body put me streight on my theorys atvb poacher3161

First crosses tend not be feathered ..there's always the exception tho

I thought the same, that all first crosses were smooth coated, sal X grey that is, does anyone know if its the same for sal X whippets ?

non in the litter were featherd it was the stamina factor i was comparing and the fact that the pure saluki luke was a fast type of saluki or so i was told and a devasting catcher of hares but i have never seen or heard of his name cropping up in the pedigrees of noted hare killing dogs [pre ban of course] atvb

i got my dog at 8 weeks old from ginger and he looks like a pure saluki,...but im not bothered though as he turned out to be one hell of a dog. he did have a few pure saluki about the place at the time though so you never know with him how your dogs bred. but like i say, who cares as long as it turns out ok.
