CZ 17hmr barrel run in

Recommended Posts

HI all, Purchased a cz 17hmr varmint, and was wondering how many shots are required to run in the barrel, because the grouping at 50yrds is about 1". I asked the people at the gun shop where i purchased the rifle and they said it can take a long time. they were told! Ok fellow 17hmr owners whats been your experience? regards larrylong123

i personnaly think thats alot of bollocks about it taking awhile to run in , mine shot sub 3/4" at 100 yards striaght away(and that is no ways good for a hmr) no running in at all think you might have a problem there or your rifle doesnt like the ammo you are using. Try something else theres plenty of brands on the market or use 17gr instead of 20gr or vice versa.

100 yards.....

Showin off again. What scope you got on there Deker?

That group was shot with this setup, scope was a Hawke Varmint II 4-16x44 which I have now sold to another member of this site...and I don't get groups like that every day, more than happy with a thumbnail group usually.

hi there! Scope is a Leupold vx-11 6x18 and the ammo i have tried being various 17grn ballistic tips, but if weather is good tomorrow wil try 20grn hornady hollows and maybe change scope just to be sure.
