i had a call from a farmer whoses garden was getting hammered by some rabbits they were coming into his garden from a field next to a moor.

these rabbits were eating all the bedding plants and his wife was on the war path he had shot 14 the previous night with the .22 from his bedroom window but he told me on the phone there was still a good few running around .

i arrived with my step son tony and both my lurchers flyte my deer x grey bitch and typp my 1st x collie grey dog we were out for just under two hours and picked up 21 rabbits from this 40 acre field the ground holds large areas of rushes in which the rabbits were finding cover still some good catches were had by both dogs and on the right night a good bag will be possible iv left the rest of the farm to breed up and i saw plenty about so as long as i keep them off his garden it looks good for next season a lot of these rabbits seem to be living in the old walls judging by the ammount of eyes i saw hiding in there roll on next season

a pleasant way to spend a few hours and a bit of ferret food to boot
